Now they admit they are lying...and they just don't care...

On Fox & Friends Sunday, anchor Clayton Morris admitted that Fox News factcheckers have confirmed that man-made global warming is “certainly” real, but argued that it “doesn’t matter” because climate denial is popular among Fox News-watching conservatives. Morris contrasted Jon Huntsman’s defense of the National Academy of Sciences with Rick Perry’s claims that scientists have “manipulated data” to concoct manmade global warming:

MORRIS: If you dive into the weeds a little bit on this global warming thing, you see that it seems that facts are certainly on Huntsman’s side on all of this and fact checkers have come out, we’re actually having our own brain room look look at this right now that any of Perry’s comments don’t seem to hold a lot of water. It doesn’t matter. What’s resonating right now in South Carolina is helping Governor Perry tremendously and he fired back at Huntsman on global warming and gaining traction, facts or not.

The only reason, of course, that the facts of global warming don’t “matter” for conservatives is the constant bombardment of anti-science propaganda by Fox News and other right-wing media. Americans care deeply about energy, weather disasters, food prices, clean air, and a safe future for their children. Maybe if Clayton Morris and his Fox News colleagues decided that facts should matter, they’d be able to rally Americans to fight global warming pollution before it’s too late.

Are you really dumb enough to use the phrase "global warming" and "man-made global warming" as inter-changeable phrases ?
They are without doubt two very very different issues......

Global warming is an undeniable fact.....man-made global warming is a hoax......

And lastly, ThinkProgess is hardly a fuckin' relivable source for controversial issues......

And the usual suspects jump in to defend Fox. What is it about that station that inspires such loyalty?

Man-made global warming isn't a "hoax," bravs - just btw. It simply can't be proven one way or the other. But to say it's a "hoax" is just as ignorant as saying it's 100% truth.

If it can't be proven and is still being touted as fact and laws are being enacted as if it is the undeniable fact, that constitutes a hoax.....and thats just the nuts and bolts of it, Onecell.

He's right. It doesn't matter. There will always be a market for people who want to hear what they want to hear. That's the lesson to be learned from Fox News. A model of journalism it is not. A succesful telecommunications business model it is.

You need a little primer on what "hoax" means.

Man - you've been sprinting away from a lot of your comments lately...

tff....libs running away from the truth. zappa and the rest of you libbies blindly believe a far left site without actually checking the facts for yourself.

It is the insistence that it is the truth that makes it a hoax. The consensus crowd, like Mott and Cypress, who continually mock those who state just what you did just now. While man certainly affects the environment, the consensus crowd proclaimed:

'CONSENSUS'
'The debate is over'
'u just a flat earther'

etc... etc... etc...

THAT is the hoax. Perpetuating that myth that science backs up the claim that man is predominantly responsible for global warming. You still have idiots like Mott who think it is 'decided' and that the debate is 'over'.... because Al Gore told him so.

Man - you've been sprinting away from a lot of your comments lately...

A hoax is a deliberately fabricated falsehood made to masquerade as truth.

'Man is causing global warming. Consensus! Debate over!'..... ringing a bell?

Right, and the article claims that, despite the fact tht they've disproved most of Perry's "facts", in N.C. it doesn't matter...

"..that any of Perry’s comments don’t seem to hold a lot of water. It doesn’t matter. What’s resonating right now in South Carolina is helping Governor Perry tremendously and he fired back at Huntsman on global warming and gaining traction, facts or not.."

Don't be draggin me into this Freakster. I've never taken an official position on the ACC issue. I freely admit that I am not well informed on this issue. It's not one I've studied. I'll defer to the professional scientist on this. The comments I've made about you, concerning this issue, is the non-scientific manner in which you've used data sourced from political lobbyist and cranks from unrelated disciplines (like the mining engineer you referenced) to support your position on the topic, which is absolutely fucking hillareous, and that I immensely enjoyed watching Cypress pwn you in your debates on ACC. :)

There are other environmental areas in which I do have professional expertise. I'd be glad to discuss those with you anytime. Climate Change is not one of them.

I'll tell ya what...all this parsing of words and splitting of grammatical hairs I see you doing is really solidifying your case!

you are really dishonest. that is NOT fox saying facts don't matter idiot, who is the subject they are talking about? if that is so, why did he say fox was FACT CHECKING perry claims? why is it you leave that out in your post i quote here.

If you dive into the weeds a little bit on this global warming thing, you see that it seems that facts are certainly on Huntsman’s side on all of this and fact checkers have come out, we’re actually having our own brain room look look at this right now that any of Perry’s comments don’t seem to hold a lot of water.

there is no doubt that fox says huntsman seems to have the facts in his side, thus, we have our fact checkers looking at this right now. that is what fox is doing, checking the facts. they are not saying facts don't matter to them. seriously, can you get any more dishonest?

When you mock those that are stating 'there is enough evidence to suggest the debate is not over' that ' there are experts who disagree' that 'the data does NOT support your claim'... when you mock them... YOU ARE TAKING A POSITION.

You claim to be a believer in the Scientific method, yet ignore the FACT that they did not follow the method.

I posted the thread in which Cypress tried to belittle the CLIMATOLOGIST from the University of Delaware. Your response on that thread? The same nonsense you now display. You pretend that the sources provided were simply 'weak' or 'from a political lobbyist' or 'cranks from unrelated disciplines'.....

Go back and look at the thread where Cypress links to all the national acadamies of science throughout the world..... go to the one where I showed him how many of them signed off on the 'consensus view' yet had NO climatologists or scientists in 'related fields'. You were on those threads Mott. You defended Cypress, yet didn't call him out for sourcing 'cranks of unrelated disciplines'.

The fact that you claim above that you are not very well informed on the subject, yet in the same breath state how 'Cypress pwned you' shows that you are a fucking hack on the issue.... all too willing to chant 'consensus' with the other lemmings.

here is the full transcript and you will notice from the last cut out sentence that fox is actually talking about what someone else said, not what they think:

HUDDY: He also went after a guy who wasn’t there at the debate, Rick Perry. And here is what he had to say with regard to Perry’s global warming stance. “When we take positions that basically runs counter to what 98 of 100 climate scientists have said. what the National Academy of Science has said about what is causing climate change and man’s contribution, I think we find ourselves on the wrong side of science and therefore in a losing position.”

BRIGGS: When talking about global warming and climate change, it’s hard to imagine him getting any traction there. I don’t know if that’s what the voters are concerned at all about.

HUDDY: I’m pretty sure it runs way down on the list.

MORRIS: I think, that may be last on the list. Not joking.

BRIGGS: You mention the tweet though and he tweeted yesterday, “$2 gas, treason, bus tours, it’s time to get serious.” So, in that tweet he’s taking on Michelle Bachmann’s notion that she can lower taxes to $2 a gallon and the treason comment’s from Rick Perry. John Huntsman going after everyone. He’s taken on Mitt Romney in the past regarding job creation. Will it work? I don’t know.

MORRIS: Certainly, if you dive into the weeds a little bit on this global warming thing, you see that it seems the facts are certainly on Huntsman’s side on all of this and fact checkers have come out, and we’re actually having our own brain room look at this right now, that any of Perry’s comments don’t seem to hold a lot of water. But it doesn’t matter, because what’s resonating right now in South Carolina is helping Governor Perry tremendously. He fired back at Huntsman on global warming and gaining traction, facts or not. Take a listen.

PERRY: John is going to make his own decision. I just happen to believe that, you know, the earth’s temperature has been moving up and down for millenniums now and there are enough scientists out there that are skeptical about the reasons for it, and I happen to be one that are skeptical, that for us to spend billions of dollars on a theory that is not proven and that you have skeptical science against that, is not in America’s best interest.

funny how zappa and his far lefty site left that out on their main page. boy, add those words and your whole accusation, with the words preceding them, is thrown out the window.
