Wisconsin Teachers' Union Lays Off 40% of Staff

Good news. A lot of corporations pay no income taxes at all. Therefore, the cost of goods and services should be decreasing, according to your logic.

Actually, it would mean that they are currently correctly priced. Tax them more if you want to pay more for their stuff or increase their costs in some other way like gasoline taxes... You can see the result of this directly in cigarettes, taxes come and they are immediately passed on to the consumer, it can also be seen on your phone bill where they don't even hide the fact that they are passing the cost of those taxes on to you...

The belief that corporations would just accept the increased cost of business without raising prices is a denial of rational action of those who run corporations. I would note that most who do not pay taxes currently able to write off losses and that it is solely a temporary thing.

YOU don't understand that EVERYONE ELSE pays into those programs. Thank you for admitting they are not 'entitlement' programs, they are EARNED.

Take your bluster somewhere else asshole. I never started a fight, and I never lost one either.

Really......then why did you make this post...

Since effective corporate tax rates are low, prices are going down, then?

It defies belief that the pinheads just ignore or don't believe this simple truth.....

When taxes are lowered, do businesses pass the savings on to the consumer?

On Monday, the Wisconsin Education Association Council announced it will lay off about 40% of its staff................

Why don't the WEAC just raise the dues of its members to pay for staff......that is what they expect school dist. to do when they demand higher pay....just raise taxes on the homeowners to pay for it....same thing.............

You seem to ignore reality of what was said for what you want to hear. The taxes have not gone down or up, the prices are where they should be at the moment. However, if you raise their taxes in some malformed idea to "punish" them, you will simply punish the consumer, yourself. Your prices will go up, it is the only rational action when business costs go up. Or companies will move to where business costs are lower, you (I would too) would call it outsourcing. If taxes were going down one could expect either more jobs (increased spending), higher wages, or lower prices. If taxes go up you can expect the opposite, they'll lay people off, they'll raise prices, or they'll go elsewhere to do business.

Did some pinhead think that Corporate taxes went down recently ...... their ignorance boggles the mind...

The effective rate is extremely fluid. Otherwise, corporations would not spend vast sums on lobbying and exploiting tax loopholes.

Corporations in America pay less in America than corporations in other countries.

Many US corporations alerady engae in outsiurcing - not primarily because of lower taxation abroad, but because of lower wages, the amenity of foreign regimes to bribery, and lack of government oversight.

You know, that "business-friendly" stuff you admire so much.

The result?

Child labor, exploitation, industrial pollution, shoddy (and dangerous) products...all "benefits" that rightwingers desire, right?

Actually I am against corporate welfare, it is simply a form of looting. You fear a competitor, have a friend in D.C.? Just get them to pass some form of regulation, give you a subsidy, pass another loophole that will benefit you and hurt competition... Who cares if they ultimately move their jobs to India and undercut you, it's no skin off your nose. Businesses who do not look rationally at the consequences of looting deserve to lose, and ultimately they do.

That isn't competition, it isn't what I "love"...

Your post here is just more assumption, you would rather argue with somebody who supports that kind of thing so you just pretend you are.

.

Wow, they will have to go find a real job instead of posing as teachers.

In whole, public education has regressed under the unions control, and teachers no longer have to teach.

Once again, you have a bunch of willfully ignorant and insipidly stubborn neocon/teabag toadies cheering a headline by some right wing-nut article that's long on headlines, but short on substance, Here's a little clarification as to what's going on in Wisconsin and why:

So thats the reason the Corporations are all going overseas .....the taxes in the US are too low, and they have an overwhelming desire to pay more taxes.....

I'm glad the pinheads got that figured out.....

Pity the poster who goes by the name "Alias".....as it is plain that "Alias" does not have the intellectual honesty to actually debate the information I provided which clarifies what is going on in Wisconsin, and WHY the unions have to cut back on thier ranks ... courtesy of Gov. Walker's policies. So instead, like a child Alias merely mocks....inserting his own words to simulate "cleverness". :palm:

Alias is a standing testament to the willfully ignornant and insipid stubborness that defends and supports the dishonest propaganda of the neocon/teabagger driven GOP.
