What would you have done differently?

No, you idiot. What I do all the time is act like I was on the campaign. I then say things I would say to my candidate. In this case, trying to impress everybody with the awesomeness of food stamps is foolish when one of the main things against you is that so many need them.

You spend all your time trying to play "gotcha" BS like this. It's just stupid. If you have an opinion about why it is a great idea to draw attention to the fact that under your Presidency more people than ever before need food stamps, tell me. Otherwise just admit you have no way to defend it and I'm right. If you are the President and more people than at any other time are in need of this kind of "stimulus" should you underline that for people?

You spend so much time trying to defend Obama by trying to "catch" me out asking for quotes on my opinions on how it is stupid to campaign on how awesome food stamps are that it really draws attention to how you can't defend him by pointing out the actual good things he has done with the first trillion we gave him... He wasted it and is desperate to make people believe he saved more jobs than there are Americans. "Bunches" of them. And that one I can find a quote for. "Bunches"...

How many jobs are in a bunch?

That's like asking,
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers;
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?"

Still waiting for the quote that the President said having more people on food stamps is a "good thing."

Well it must be a "good thing" because they sure ain't claiming it's a "bad thing" ...every speech we hear, we're told how things are better and we've turned the corner. Jarhead and Onzies are on here crowing about how Obama cut the deficit, and spent less than Bush... Everything is just fucking ROSY in pinhead land... so, being there are more people on food stamps than ever before in history.... well, it HAS to be a good thing, right?

I'm not asking for quotes on your opinions, I'm asking you for the quotes on which you apparently base your opinions. The trouble is, those quotes are non-existent. You just make them up to support the negative opinion of the President you already have. It's fine. You're a Republican. You don't have to like the President. Just be honest about it instead of making up bullshit quotes so you can play gotcha and tut-tut about "appearances." And it's really not hard to call out you're bullshit. It takes minimal effort it's so damned transparent. You're about as clever as my kid. He's two.

The fact of the matter is that Vilsack was asked a question about food stamps and put the best spin on it he could. No one is parading around as though record numbers of food stamp recipients is a good thing. It's a bad thing. No one is pretending otherwise or "campaigning" on it. That's just your nonsense. The food stamp program, though, is indeed a good thing, both in terms of human welfare and economic production. It's a damn shame you can't be a normal, thinking person and recognize these facts and instead have to play gotcha games. But, like I said, you're a Republican. I guess it comes with the territory.

They aren't "non-existent" they are on the clips I hear... But again, quotes on my own opinion are right here in the thread.

Anyway...

People in his administration underlining food stamps for us and trying to make them into a positive:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vi...etary_vilsack_food_stamps_are_a_stimulus.html

What is amazing to me is how it truly does underline that 1 in 7 people are either accepting something they don't need and stealing form the taxpayer or there really is so many people in poverty that they really need it. Either way it is a pretty telling indictment of your policy...

If I were on his campaign I would be telling him to get this guy to shut up and to stop drawing so much attention to it... I agree, they are "stimulus" in some sense, but they are one of the few things I wouldn't be crowing about. If the measure of my success is in how many people need this, I would rather find a different yard stick...

I've seen the clip. What did he say that was incorrect? He didn't say it was a good thing that lots of people are on food stamps as you claimed. He said the food stamps program is a good program that provides economic stimulus. He was putting the best spin on a bad situation.

If I were on his campaign I'd be telling him to ignore people like you who would never in a million years vote for him under any theoretical circumstances imaginable.

Still waiting for that quote.

Again, you misquote me. I said I would avoid the appearance of that, that people will take it and make it appear that way in ads. You are just creating a straw man argument.

One more time. I'll type slowly for you. I suggest you sound out the words.

I would certainly not have anybody saying anything that could be taken that way in sound bytes. I would avoid underlining this particular program during any campaign season, especially if so many more need them now than when I took office.

Now, be a good little apologist and ask for a quote and declare victory. It might even make you feel good, but it certainly won't be addressing my point.
