No, A flat income tax is a regressive tax on income that shifts taxation unfairly to the middle class. VATS and the "Fair Tax" proposal are regressive flat taxes on consumption. That's not neither here nor there though about my criticisms on the "fair tax".

Please tell me....how would you administer the "Fair Tax" and it's prebates and zillion and 1 points of collection with out creating a super huge bureaucracy? Please explain that to me with out using magic libertarian pixie dust.

Then explain to me how you can financially or ethically condone making over 100 million American homes dependent on a government entitlement (e.g. the prebate)? Please, explain this to me. How you gonna do that? Huh?

I didn't claim that you did. You said my criticisms of the fair tax were fucking dumb and I'm challenging you to refute them instead of just lobbing grenades and running but so far you've just ran.

You're the only one talking about it at all, except of course when SF and I are trying to tell you it's not what we're talking about. You've continually mis-applied the term to our (his) tax proposal, when the two are not alike in any way other than starting with an F (a letter all Ohioans are intimately familiar with).

I said your inability to tell the difference between a fair tax and a flat tax is dumb, especially when it's been repeated probably 20 times to you.

Well duh! I was porpusefully trying to get under his skin. It worked too if you hadn't of noticed. Be that as it may, I don't expect that I'm going to get an honest attempt at a rebuttal on my criticisms of the "fair tax".

Probably because no one is proposing it. It's the same as why no one will refute your criticisms of rape. Because no one here is proposing it.
