A Failed Presidency -- The American Problem

That's not my point Oncie. I don't give a rats ass about Obama. Obama or Romney or just about any other "Top Down Leader" aint going to pulll a rabitt out of his hat and make it all better. Hell will freeze over first. If we of the middle class want to create better economic conditions for our selves and have government that is more responsive to our needs then it will have to be a grass roots effort. Praying for some leader to come save our asses is a waste of time. We need to get off our asses and do it our selves. Starting at home and where we live and work.

Well, I agree w/ that, and have for some time. It doesn't take much to look at the trend on the gap between rich & everyone else to realize that it's going to end up at ridiculous extremes (and already is there in a certain way).

The masses are too busy, though. Most households have 2 working parents, who are working more, and busier than ever trying to figure out how to afford just the basics. When grassroots movements do start, they tend to be fairly extreme & marginalized. I don't see what will provide the impetus for change (and I hate to say or think that collapse is the only way...)

A soundbite video from Fox News? That's your response? Fox is the most biased "news source" of all. The Republicans made clear, from day one of Obama's presidency, that they weren't going to cooperate with him....and since they had no clue as to what he was going to do, what could have been their motivation? Racism, ideology , and partisanship. Get the fuck outta here.
Undeniable truth, right from their own mouths, not just sound bites, but video.....historical facts are a bitch to ignore except for pinheads.

Watch it again and cringe....

You make a good point but it will work, for this reason. It's local and as we all know, all politics are local. Education is literally the key and that's where grass roots organizing to educate people at a local level as to what their economic interests are. You do have a point in that it may require some sort of crisis or disaster to precipitate action at a local level.

I didn't watch it. I won't watch it. I don't watch anything from Fox News, as a rule. You've got to be kidding. I don't spit in the wind , either.

Truth? Truth? Fox News doesn't broadcast the truth. It broadcasts propaganda "as truth". Whenever there has been a "truthful" news story, which casts Obama, the White House, Democrats, liberals, or minorities in a positive light, Fox News doesn't run the story...in fact, they have been known to "spin the story". That's not news. That's propaganda. With the persona non grata d'jour, Rupert Murdoch at the head????? Fox News even refused to run a story about the negative press Murdoch was receiving. Baby, you can have that koolaid...I prefer a cocktail.

And thus is born "The Tea Party".....to take back a government we have lost control of....a government that no longer works for us, but for extending their own power over us.....a government that makes law for us to obey while they exempt themselves....a government that lacks common sense......glad to have ya.

I said it wasn't all his fault. No doubt, the GOP Congress has made it their mission to bring him down, and have rejected common sense measures that would help the economy & average Americans to do so.

That said, perception is everytihng in politics. Obama has lost a tremendous amount of clout; he is perceived as someone who cannot bridge the partisan gap.

Obama has lost clout among whom? He is perceived by whom as someone who cannot bridge the partisan gap (a gap that cannot be bridged by anyone, mind you)?

This pining for some magical Great Leader is nonsense considering the actual political dynamics. The world just doesn't work that way.

I'm a fucking boneheaded asshole, because I won't watch clips from a biased, non-credible source????????????? Excuse me...but I have a penchant and a fondness for the truth....no matter how bad it makes you and your ilk look. It's the truth.
And I most certainly would consider watching any clips from a non Fox source..You betcha.
Who's the real fucking boneheaded asshole here? LOL

The political dynamics aren't really all that different from the '90's, and Clinton worked both sides beautifully. For all his flaws, that guy was a magnificent politician, and a perfect leader for that time.

Obama doesn't have that. If you don't think the media perception & that of average Americans and even many supporters has changed & diminished, you're wrong.

Actually Pavo that is essentially correct. Except that you've forgotten that they've lost sight of that goal and have become coopted by the Republican party. To be succesful any grass roots movement will have to put aside all these divisive social wedge issues, respect the differences that we have on those issues and work together on our common ecnomic interest that will improve our quality of life at home and at work. The fact that the Tea Party is enraptured mostly with divisive social issues and have been co-opted by the Repbulcian party is a large measure that they have indeed failed.

don't you think a competent president could have handled it by now?.....

Are you implying that Obama is incompetent? On the contrary, no president meeting the resistance he has met could have handled anything differently. You fail to acknowledge the impetus to undermine his presidency , at all costs.

In a stunning rejection of network news and nightly news anchors, cable news, driven by the Fox News Channel and mouthy Bill O'Reilly, is now the top most trusted source—by a mile.

In a new poll from Boston's Suffolk University, more than a quarter of the nation says Fox is tops when it comes to who they trust the most and O'Reilly is the most believable.

"This poll shows two things: first, the network news have completely lost their brand. Second, the only network with any intensity is Fox News," says Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center. "Bottom line: the more they attack Fox, the stronger it is getting," he adds.

wtf.....implying?......no, I'm stating it outright......Obama is incompetent......and a president who wasn't intent on being incompetent wouldn't have met resistance, except perhaps from his own party......
