gotta love canton ohio PD

Looks likes two white cops giving the black passenger a very hard time. And a VERY clear anti CCW bias. Mention of execution huh? He shouldn't be on the force if he has anger problems like that.

Why don't you two bravefarts go find a cop and tell him to his face what you think of police?

I'm good friends with a lot of police officers. Got a free alternator for my car from their motor pool. Just because I distrust them as an institution does not mean I dislike them as individuals.

Free? You mean the taxpayers funded it, freeloader. And you claim to be against waste in government spending?

Awesome.

Awesome.
Well since I pay taxes and do a good load of work for them... I consider it a professional favor. But view it as you like.

EDIT: It would be more appropriate to say my company does work for them. Building and maintaining cop cars isn't my particular specialty.

Situational morality?

Sounds like misappropriation of public property to me.

Wiggle much?

Now I know how much credence to give your stance.

Well had they accepted my offer to pay them for it, I might be less inclined to get them a better bid on the next fleet they purchase. Of course I've long supported the surplusing off of public property. But since you are so inclined to be critical of my situation, what is your stance exactly? Or do you not have one? And more to the point, you seem to have no thoughts on the OP besides trolling, so it begs the question as to why you feel the need to post in the first place.

So you were complicit in a criminal act, and your defense is that the thieves declined your offer to pay for it?

Depending on the value of the city/county property you received as stolen goods, you could be guilty of a felony.

It also sounds as though you are open to bribery.

You fail on so many levels with this one.

Considering its their property to do with as they please I didn't steal anything. But please, do explain your position. I'd be most interested in hearing it.

An alternator removed from a police motor pool inventory and given to a vendor is an individual public servants' 'property to do with as they please'?

You ever heard of receiving stolen property?

You cannot be that stupid, although I now have a better sense of your inherent dishonesty.

The police department can do whatever they please with their property and their funds. You do understand that concept do you not? And why are you so hesitant to express an opinion? I mean you are totally ignoring the OP besides your initial trolling post.

Wrong.

They cannot give department property paid for with public funds to a city or county vendor, particularly if the gift could create a conflict of interest in a bid situation.

I can tell you have no morals, are you seriously telling me you have no sense either?

I'm sorry but since you continually refuse to discuss the matter at hand, or offer any form of opinion as to anything at all, I must end this conversation, lovely as it has been. You also do not seem to understand the fundamental nature of police property or how it may be used. Good day to you madam, I hope this evening finds you well.

one year earlier, same canton officer, same complete lack of professionalism and death threats.

The Repository requested police cruiser video of the July 29, 2010, incident on Friday. Internal affairs opened the second investigation around the same time.

Harless and his partner, patrolman Mark Diels, pulled over a pickup at Reed Court and Sixth Street NW around 2:30 a.m., according to court papers, police reports and the video.

After getting the driver, who was suspected of driving drunk, and the front passenger out of the car, Harless noticed a gun on the floor next to the foot of one of the rear passengers, according to the video and police reports.

Harless pulled his weapon and ordered — in profanity laced language — the man and woman in the back seat not to move or he would shoot.

“Don’t (expletive) move. Let me see your (expletive) hands,” Harless shouted. “I’ll kill every one of you (expletive). There’s a (expletive) gun in this car. You (expletive) move, I’ll shoot you in the head.”

Harless also threatened to send the suspects “to the grave” if they moved, adding, “I will shoot you in the face and I’ll go to sleep tonight.”

In his report on the incident, Harless wrote that the man looked as if he was trying to make a decision whether to pick up the gun or leave it alone, and that he yelled several orders to the man that he and the woman would be shot if she kept moving around.

CANTON, Ohio - NewsChannel5's investigative team obtained a third video that once again shows a Canton police officer making death threats during a traffic stop.

Officer Daniel Harless was the subject of national media attention in July when a video of Harless cursing and making death threats during a traffic stop went viral.

In the latest video, you see Harless pull over a car for no apparent reason. Harless then makes threats to shoot one of the passengers inside.

NewsChannel5's investigators also obtained hundreds of pages of records on Harless, including more than one dozen other internal affairs complaints.

We asked Chief Dean McKimm about why nothing has been done until now. He said until he saw the tapes, he never knew Harless had any problems.

We are digging through all of the records we obtained and will have a full story at 11 p.m. on NewsChannel5. We'll also post our full investigation here on newsnet5.com.
