I told you who and what I was, because I didn't want there to be any ambiguity about it. You're painting me as a victim, because that's your reality, not mine. That, essentially, let's you off the hook, because when you can categorize or stereotype, or isolate someone as "the other', it makes it easier to mistreat them, malign them, and to paint them as "the other", which is what you have just done.
By your rhetoric, I already know that you are conservative and white. And a prime time benefactor of "white privilege', which you wouldn't claim, but would throw a hissy fit, if it were denied you.
I expect a certain kind of reaction? How so? Foks who know me, can see immediately what I am (black and male)...maybe, after in-depth conversation, you might surmise that I'm gay. You might not. Reaction, and expectation is a two way street. You can best believe that I would be "sizing you up", as the reaction you expect might different than the one you imagine. Don't assume anything.
