CHICAGO (WLS) - Mayor Rahm Emanuel says he's going to lay off up to 625 city workers, a move he says will save $10 million to $12 million for the rest of this year.

Who in the world said it's only repubs who lay off public employees?

It would be pretty dumb if they did. I doubt there is even one state or local gov't entity who hasn't had to lay off employees, and a lot of those are "lefties."

maybe it's got something to do with the multi million dollars worth of excessive force lawsuits under the extreme lefty richard daley? nah, it's just chi-town
