Q & A...

Q. When do businesses need to hire/retain employees?

A. When they need to competitively provide goods or services to meet consumer demand.

So, cut their taxes, goes the GOP mantra.

Works every time, claim Republicans.

Does it?

Did tax cuts produce employment when George W. Bush was president?

Looks like the answer is....no.

So what evidence is there that more tax cuts will produce jobs?

They do not necessarily create jobs. Labor costs are a bigger factor, and corporations would rather use slaves overseas.

Protectionism will save us from the new world order.

let me know when the next time someone goes to a 4x laid off person for what creates jobs.

Why does Obama keep lowering taxes if that is bad. Why aren't you room temperature IQ demtards cracking on the one for cutting taxes?

It's not that "tax cuts are bad" it's that they're not sufficient to stimulate investment when labor costs are a bigger factor. If you understand the whole picture you won't be such a gibbering moron.

Offshoring by corporations is indeed epidemic. Despite tax cuts, loopholes and subsidies offered by the US , businesses are going to source materials and labor in the cheapest market available - and freedom from pesky environmental and labor regulations sweeten the profit pie.

Lest you think that the resulting lower prices are passed on to the consumer by profit-conscious business, ask yourself what prices of foreign sourced/produced goods have declined?

A bill was introduced to reign in the flight of American jobs overseas.

It's worth recalling that this bill, introduced in 2010 - S.3816Creating American Jobs and Ending Offshoring Act - was defeated by GOP Senators, who almost unanimously voted to keep the one-way exit door for American jobs wide open.

How do tax cuts for business create consumer demand, which drives job growth?

tax cuts do not directly create jobs. the ONLY thing that creates jobs is demand for a product or service. the ONLY thing that creates demand for a product or service is being able to afford one, so tax cuts CAN create jobs, indirectly.

Explain how consumer demand is fueled by tax cuts for business, and don't forget to show statistical evidence of this occurring in history.

Poor Blabo.

It seems that even a picture is beyond his meager comprehension.

Why don't you attempt to prove that tax cuts create jobs, Blabo?

Mr. Groan wonders how it is that (\(\(\/)/)/) finds time to post so often on this board. Didn't a liberal win the presidency in 08'? Didn't the liberals control congress for the next two years?

When this man was president, we had nearly full employment.

We had a budget surplus.

Then came tax cuts....

We had a booming economy, a budget surplus and lots of jobs, then Bush cut taxes.

The Bush tax cuts are still in place.

  • Now we have a faltering economy, high unemployment and a deficit.

The Bush tax cuts are still in place.

  • The deficit is growing.

The Bush tax cuts are still in place.

  • Unemployment is growing.

If tax cuts create jobs, where are the jobs the tax cuts created?

If tax cuts produce prosperity, how long will we have to wait? It's been 10 years.
