I absolutey have said so. You think I never criticize Obama, because, as I said, you project your own hackery. Fact is, I have criticized him dozens of times on the site. I have praised him for things like the stimulus, which I supported, but haven't been that much of a fan over the past year or so. I in no way turned a blind eye to his telling consumers not to spend in a consumer-based economy during a recession.

It is LONG term capital gains. Short term cap gains are taxed as ordinary income. Since 2003, many publicly traded corporation's dividends also have been taxed at LT cap gains rates if the holding periods have been met. That is set to expire at the end of 2012.

I don't think he said it, but it's ridiculous to describe the difference between gov't & consumer spending as "nitpicky," especially if you're a conservative.
Gov't needs to reign in spending. Consumers, on the other hand, should be encouraged to spend within their means (avoiding falling into debt is another issue).

I think you are incorrect on this. While I don't have the specific thread handy, I know he has criticized Obama in the past and I am pretty certain one of those times was on a similar topic as this thread (though it was Obama rather than Ryan as the person of topic)

ok...all he has to do is link the post. he has said in the past that if someone doesn't link to their claim, they are liars. i know he has criticized obama occassionally, but i do not recall him criticizing obama for this. if he did, i will admit i'm wrong.
