I'm not charged to work for the public, Mott'tard. I work as an independent person and set my rates based on what the market will bear.

But on a side note I have walked that walk with regard to licensing fees. The rates went up very high in NYS and when questioned, they openly admitted that the money they were bringing in was well above required to run the licensing board and they were fucking us over and using us as a source of revenue. That along with several other government rip-off schemes were the main reasons for me leaving NYS to enjoy the relative freedom of NC.

I see, so why do you get to charge what the market will bear but others cannot Mr. Double Standard? What makes you unique? Are you saying that only those who are independantly employed have the right to charge what the market will bear for their services?

They can charge whatever they want, 15ppMoot, if they did what I did and became independent contractors. What makes me unique is that I provide a much higher standard of quality.

So working independantly is the only criteria for being allowed to charge what the market will bear? That only people who work independantly are permitted to do so?

Any private company has employees that are good enough to negotiate a market salary. Even private unions can negotiate with their employer.

An interesting poll. Almost all the results are within or close to the margin of error. About the only conclusions one can draw, other then that the nation is evenly divided politically, is that Democrats have a problem with white males and Republicans have a problem with minorities, the younger generation and moderates.

Considering white men still dominate this nation poliically Democrats should be very, very concerned.

Given that our population growth is coming mostly from the minority population, Republicans should be worried about gaining ground there. The fact that moderate overwhelmingly dissaprove of Republicans over Democrats is indicative of how far to the right extreme Republicans have shifted.

Based on this data, if the Presidential election were held today Obama would win by a slim 2% margin of the popular vote. Not because 2% more of the population have more faith or confidence in him but because 2% more of the population have less faith and confidence in Republicans. That could and probably will shift significantly if the economy continues to stagnate over the next 17 months.

If you want to truly see what the market will bare (no grizzlies here)... then remove tenure and let the workers stand on merit. Watch how fast the good employees get pay raises and the bad ones get fired. You want to see what the market will bare... then remove the current 'bribe a politician for a raise' and replace it with a 'state your case to the public and let them vote on it' (since it IS THEIR money paying for the increases).

the private sector has had a forced enima economically, but we are supporsed to still be able to afford the bullshit union cost.

Aren't the turbo-libs all about shared sacrafice, or is that card only good for fleecing the productive people.
 
As to Wisconsin-

With the Budget Repair Bill firmly intact after a prolonged court fight, and the 2012-13 budget making its way to the Governor’s desk, public sector unions in Wisconsin know they are stooping at death’s doorstep. Their last ditch attempt lies in flipping the state senate in the summer recall elections and a federal lawsuit alleging violations of both the First and Fourteenth Amendments. But neither strategy is likely to block the June 29 publishing of Wisconsin Act 10 which limits collective bargaining to only pay and prohibits government from automatically deducting union dues from paychecks.

The union lawsuit alleges that the Budget Repair Bill violates the Equal Protection clause by creating a two-tiered system whereby police, firefighters, and transit workers are exempt from the changes to collective bargaining. Furthermore, the unions want to frame this as a form of political payback because the Milwaukee Professional Firefighters Union, the Milwaukee Police Association, the West Allis Professional Police Association, and the Wisconsin Troopers Association all endorsed Scott Walker during the 2010 election.

But neither of the state’s largest police and fire fighter unions, the Wisconsin Professional Police Association and the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, endorsed Walker during the 2010 campaign. In fact, Mahlon Mitchell, President of the Professional Fire Fighter’s union has been one of Walker’s most outspoken critics, lambasting the Budget Repair Bill at rallies and in interviews.
