John Wayne, John Wayne Gacy

Bonestorm

Thrillhouse
This is all sorts of awesome:

Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has a thing for John Wayne. In an interview yesterday with Newsmax, she said she wants to live in “John Wayne’s America.” And in the Iowa town of Waterloo today, where she announced her presidential candidacy, Bachmann told Fox News, “John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” But unfortunately for historically challenged Bachmann, as the Washington Times points out, the John Wayne born in Waterloo is John Wayne Gacy, the notorious serial killer who murdered 33 teenage boys and young men, not the iconic Western actor.

Damo - Please delete. Double posted thread. Something weird happened and I didn't think the first one took, but it did.

Are you sure?

Wikipedia shows John Wayne Gacy born in Chicago.

No. I'm not sure. I'm a dumbass. See above. I think John Wayne Gacy just lived there for a time but wasn't born there. So I guess those leftist dipshit at Think Progress fucked up too (unless they are just relying on the Washington Times report, in which case the right-wing dipshits at the Washington Times fucked up and the leftist dipshits at Think Progress fucked up for relying on right-wing dipshits, which would probably make me something more than a dumbass, but I haven't run the numbers yet).

Sounds like someone is having a case of the MONDAYs

Now there's a fuck up that someone ought to lose a job over. But for Christ's sake Obama, if you cannot remember it, don't fucking talk about it like you do. Jackass.

you would think so.... but he is a politician... regardless of party, they just keep on going and hope like hell it blows over.

John Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa, which is not what Bach-to-Mom claimed.

She said John Wayne was born in Waterloo, Iowa, which is where John Wayne Gacy lived when he was a perverted wife-swapper, child molester etc.

It's always possible that Bach-to-Mom's faithful flock, being good Chris-chuns, will hack Wikipedia like failin' Palin's fartsniffers did.

She just makes shit up as she goes along, and her GOP base eats it up and asks for seconds.

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., talks about growing up in Waterloo, Iowa in front her childhood home on Sunday. (Charlie Riedel/AP)

Now, let's enjoy the spectacle of the Bach-to-Mom's acolytes trying to prove she isn't a moron.

Dance, Bach-to-Mom lovers, dance.

I'm a forgetful, absent-minded, idiot, but I fail to comprehend how all of these politicians mess this shit up. I mean, its largely anecdotal - how do you (aside from mis-applying them, that is) fuck up an anecdote? Its absolutely astounding. Normally, the reason for telling these stories is because they come from a part of memory that you feel comfortable with, and can relate to, but people just say shit because they feel it will click with the collective experiences of the audience, or something...

She could fuck up a wet dream.

Not only did she mess this up, but she declared that the Revolution started in New Hampshire.

The thing that makes this really odd is that she's supposed to be the darling of the Tea Party, who worship all things Revolutionary.

In addition to lying about her family history in her speech in Iowa, Bachmann, who actually was born in Iowa, but moved to Minnesota as a child, also made it clear that she herself was an Iowan, saying, "I was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and grew up in Waterloo. I grew up in Cedar Falls."

But during her 2008 campaign for reelection in Minnesota, when it was more advantageous for her to be a Minnesotan, her campaign website emphasized her Minnesota roots with a section on its "About" page titled "Rooted in Minnesota," which began, "Michele grew up in Anoka."

If Bachmann's presidential aspirations don't work out and she has settle for running for reelection to Congress, I wonder how her constituents in Minnesota will feel about her denouncing her Minnesota roots in favor of being an Iowan.

That's incorrect. Gacy was born in Chicago, Illinois.

John Wayne was born about 150 miles from Waterloo, in a town called Winterset, IA.

Bachmann had the wrong town, but John Wayne was born in Iowa. Gacy was not.

The dishonesty of the left never ceases to amaze me.

The only tactic the libs have against conservative women is to call them stupid. They find it insulting and offensive that these women think for themselves.

That didn't take long, did it?

Bach-to-Mom was wrong AGAIN, and Dolt blames 'the left'.

Dance, lil' Dolt, dance.

Dolt, you know, and I know, that if Obama makes a gaffe the Conservatards crow about it constantly. Some even put his errors in their signatures. Fair enough.

But let a Doltish idiot like Bach-to-Mom get caught lying, distorting the truth and making wacked-out claims, and it's all because she's a woman?

Keep dancing, Dolt.

What I'm saying is getting the wrong town doesn't make one an idiot.

If you said Bill Gates was born in Bellingham, I wouldn't say you're an idiot just because he was actually born in Seattle. It's called a mistake. Was Obama an idiot when he claimed to have visited all 57 states?

Of course, you are an idiot, which is why we're even having this discussion. This thread is based on nothing more than hatred toward conservative women. It's disgusting.

It's not her first gaffe, Dolt, and you know that, so stop feigning ignorance - you don't have to act.

Here's how Bach-to-Mom, Dolt's idea of an independent woman - "thinks for herself".

First, Mac Hammond, God, and her husband (all male) tell her what to do...and she does it.

Pastor Mac Hammond (male) of the Living World Christian Center, a mega-church in suburban Minneapolis, twice risked his church’s nonprofit status for Bachmann's campaigns.

When he offered her his pulpit during her first run for the House in 2006, she took the opportunity to talk about an even more powerful friend who had endorsed her candidacies: the Lord in Heaven (male).

After God chose her husband (male) for her and then told her she should “submit” to him (male) (he, in turn, told her to study tax law), she says God “called me to run for the Minnesota Senate… God then called me to run for the United States Congress. And I thought, ‘What in the world would that be for?’ And my husband (male) said, ‘You need to do this,’ and I wasn’t so sure. And we took three days, and we fasted and we prayed, and we said, ‘Lord, is this what you want? Is this your will?’ And long about the afternoon of day two, he (male) made that calling sure.”

How Bachmann conducts her personal affairs (such as her marriage) is none of my concern. And you conveniently ignored my question. Was Obama an idiot for claiming to have visited 57 states?

Bachmann is not an idiot. I disagree with her on many issues, but she's not stupid. She received her law degree from a prestigious university (William & Mary School of Law) while raising several children. Her husband has a PhD in clinical psychology. You may disagree with how the Bachmanns choose to run their lives, but they're not idiots.

why is this important enough for you to worry about? So she fucked some pandering. Who really cares? Is it important to you that she knows where John Wayne was born? No wonder you're so fucking stupid
