The Constitution means exactly what it says

Yeah, right after you admit that your comment about liberals was just shit-stirring.

You mean this:
The only feasible ways that I see to correct the current situation is to:

1. Vote the liberals out of office and replace with conservatives and libertarians. The 2010 election cycle showed that the people are willing to do this but several more with the same magnitude of results is needed.
2. Let the liberals run the country into bankruptcy, followed by a forced overthrow.

How is that "just shit stirring"? I mean, of course I'm stirring shit to piss off liberals, but that post is also fodder for legitimate debate.

Regardless, your owning up to something isn't tied into something that you want me to do.

Again, why not simply admit you fucked up and be done with it?

you replied to him after this...didn't you?

i mean it...you put him on your ignore list and so will i.

According to the chronology of posts, yurt is wrong again, and apparently incapable of even looking at the page he quoted from to verify his statement.

The Second Amendment means more of this:

60-year-old Los Gatos man who shot a mother and her daughter in Crescent City Tuesday before taking his own life later in the day, appears to have had other things in mind for the pair.

Del Norte County Sheriff's Cmdr. Bill Steven said detectives searched Jerry Wayne Steele's rental car after he shot himself in the head at a Pebble Beach picnic area Tuesday afternoon as police approached.

In a bag in the back seat of the white Chevrolet Aveo, Steven said detectives found night vision goggles, a stun gun, duct tape, rope and large zip ties.

”A 'kidnapping kit,' detectives called it,” Steven said.

Steele is alleged to have confronted 14-year-old Cecilia Mortensen and her mother Ashley Volore at the Shangri-LA trailer park on the north end of Crescent City shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials said Steele attempted to kidnap Mortensen and Volore before eventually shooting them once each in the head.

Mortensen remains in grave condition on life support at a Crescent City hospital, Steven said.

Volore was flown to Rogue Valley Memorial Center in Oregon and is expected to recover.

Authorities said Tuesday there were signs of a struggle at the residence, and Wednesday disclosed the items found in Steele's rental car.

Also in the back seat, Steven said they found cut flowers and a teddy bear, which appeared to be for Mortensen.

Steele had been accused of molesting the girl, leading to his arrest in February.

See? Gunlovers are thoughtful and considerate. When they plan an abduction and child rape, they care enough to bring flowers and a teddy bear.

Well, if the people of California still have the right to own guns, then it proves your contention wrong.

That is ridiculous.

Did CA use the registration to aid in confiscating guns?? Yes. The fact that they didn't take all the guns doesn't change that.

no it doesn't. the only weapons confiscated were the ones that were registered, therefore registration leads to confiscation. It's ridiculous to conclude that just because californians can still own .22 LRs means that registration does not lead to confiscation.

As passed by the Congress:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
As ratified by the States:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

You do understand what "The People" means, right? In this case it gives a reason (A Well regulated militia being necessary...) that they are limiting government from infringing the rights of individuals (The right of the People..... ).

It's silly to suggest that "The People" means something different here than it means in every other portion of the constitution.

I love you.

Yes...it does.

Did CA confiscate EVERY SINGLE GUN?

No? then the statement "registration leads to confiscation" is false.

You guys like to make all these scary blanket statements that aren't the truth when it comes down to it.

Why can't you be honest and say that registration led to the voluntary handing over...not "confiscation" of a very limited number of specifically defined weapons?

THAT is the truth...not the previous blanket statement.

Did CA require the registration of every single gun? Whether or not the residents of CA can own a gun does not mean that the registration process has not been used to confiscate guns.

The very limited number of spcifically defined guns was what were required to be registered. And it was NOT voluntary. The gun owners were not given a choice, otherwise no one would have handed over anything.

This is like the time a couple of weeks back when the whiny gunlovers were crying that they can't buy South Korean surplus M1s, even though they can get all the M1s they want from other sources.

They made out like the fucking sky was falling.

I bet none of 'em even wanted a fucking M1.

Did I say that?

You want to play word games fine...then discuss this with someone else.

Yes or No...do the people of California still have the right to own guns?

yes or no...were the guns that california residents were required (not voluntary) to register get confiscated?

the answer to your question is yes. now, answer mine.
