A porn star who says she exchanged text messages with embattled Representative Anthony Weiner plans to speak out publicly on Wednesday for the first time since the scandal broke.
Ginger Lee and her celebrity attorney, Gloria Allred, are scheduled to hold a news conference in Manhattan.
Lee, described as a "feature dancer" in the announcement, will explain how her relationship began with the Democratic lawmaker from New York, what Weiner asked of her when the scandal became a problem, and whether or not she still supports him, Allred said in a statement.
Allred will discuss the next step for Lee, she said.
Celebrity news site TMZ reported that Allred told the website on Wednesday morning that, "Ms. Lee has asked me to issue this statement, because an individual has threatened her with a release of another statement which purports to be from her, but which she has not authorized."
Allred would not say who the individual is or what the nature of the threat was, but said, "Ginger would like it to be known that she has not authorized any person, except me, her attorney, to issue statements on her behalf," TMZ reported.
