Where are the Romney supporters?

I keep hearing it, I keep seeing polls, the talking head keeps telling me that Mitt Romney is the 'frontrunner' in the GOP race. I've been hearing this since the 2008 race was over, actually.... but WHERE are these Mitt Romney masses? This is a political forum with a considerable GOP representation, where is this vibrant Mitt presence? It seems like I talk to a lot of people who say they support someone else, but believe Mitt is likely to win the nomination. Is this based on actual people who are enthusiastic about Romney, or because the media has been portraying Romney as the heir-apparent to the nomination, since 2008?

Honestly, I see more fire-in-the-belly passion out there for Ron Paul than Mitt Romney. Oh, there are people who would slash their wrist and sacrifice themselves, if it would elect Ron Paul, his supporters are die-hards. Where are the Mitt-iacs? Perhaps they are too good to find themselves on a political message board, but you would think at least a few would be around, somewhere. So far, the only people I have seen or heard who are interested in Mitt Romney, are television personalities, political pundits, etc. THEY keep telling us that Romney is distancing himself from the field, that it's his nomination to lose... but where are the voters who are passionately devoted to Mitt Romney? Have any of you seen them?

In order to get the con nomination the candidate must have Faux 'News' approval. Gingrich blasted the establishment and Faux didn't like it so he's out of the propaganda loop. The rest are weak candidates except for Mitt who can carry Utah Alabama and Arizona. The people are not going to turn this country back over to the same group who got us into this mess.

Mitt's the default selection. There isn't really much fire in the belly support for him. He's the guy that people turn to when they realize Newt's a joke, Bachman's crazy, Paul's crazy, Cain's crazy, Palin's a joke and Pawlenty's a light-weight.

Well I don't believe Romney can win Alabama, I can't speak for Arizona or Utah. And yes, Fox is pushing Romney heavily, so are the rest of the media outlets, but the interesting thing is, media outlets don't vote. You say the rest of the candidates are weak, except for Romney... where is Romney strong? What is it about Romney that sets him apart from the others? It's certainly not Romneycare. I guess I'm just not seeing what one would expect to see, if Romney truly were the 'favorite' in this race. Where are all these supporters? Who is out there making the case for Romney, other than the mainstream media? I think we are being 'steered' toward Romney, by the same ultimate forces who gave us John McCain.

just because some supporters are not as vocal as others, doesn't mean they do not exist. iirc...in the 2004 election, kerry supporters, media, orgs, people....were much more vocal than bush supporters and bush won. i think romney has the best chance of winning. i would like to know more about his positions, but if they are similiar to 08'...i would vote for him over the others.

If Faux 'News' and the Koch brothers tell you that Mitt is your man then you get in line. Is Dixie finally starting to realize that he's being lied to by his 'mainstream media'?

I think his lack of political experience is too insurmountable when it comes to the presidency. For the same reason, I don't think he would be picked as a VP. It may sound a bit morbid, but I believe a VP selection should be looked at in terms of, if the prez croaks, could this person take over the reigns? I think too many people will be hesitant about Cain in that role, even though, I believe Cain could handle pretty much anything you throw at him, and would certainly be better than the incompetent leader we currently have.

They are likely to split the vote between Bachmann and Paul, and Paul attracts a lot of independent voters as well, so where is Mitt's base of support? From my perspective, all the Mitt supporters seem to work for television networks as political consultants and contributors, because that is the only people I hear praising Mitt.
