I was tolerating Mara Liason of NPR on 'the panel' the other day at Fox News, and I was amused by her lack of ability to ever look directly into the camera, she just looks to the left and right, and never at the camera. It's almost as if she thinks we aren't important enough for her to talk to or something...must be a pinhead thing. Anyway, she was droning on and on about how the Republicans don't have a candidate yet... and *breathless* they better get one soon! And I'm like.... Why Mara? She never really explained.
Then I am flipping through the channels, and there is some other pinhead yammering the same thing... Oh, the republicans are in trouble, they don't have a candidate... oh my... oh no... what are they going to do? Panic.... maybe they can draft Christie? Oh well, this is just going to be a cakewalk for Obama anyway, it's his election to lose...
Can someone explain to me what the all-fire importance is, in the GOP settling on a single candidate at this particular time? I mean, if it were May 2012, and we still didn't have a candidate... I could understand your concerns, but this is very EARLY in the season, not LATE. We're really just getting started, some have jumped in... others will later... then we really have to listen to some debates, hear what each person has to say, how they come across to the people. When we are done with this process, we will have a candidate who can and will beat Barack Obama. Rest assured, there is no scenario where Obama goes unchallenged.
It is still a long way to November of 2012. Ronald Reagan didn't even announce he was running for president until November 13, 1979. After that, we had a year of debates and conventions, and finally, the election. I see no reason the Republicans need to "find a candidate" for Mara and the Pinheads, and I don't hear any of these idiots explaining to anyone WHY they think this is so breathlessly important and urgent?
