Osama Bin Laden DEAD!

"Liberals Were opposed to all interrogation techniques...."

^ your statement is not true dix

Yes, it is true Mr. Liberal Ass Kisser! Sorry!

The whole entire premise of closing Gitmo, was because Liberals didn't feel we should be "interrogating" anyone! Their argument was, even the most "routine" interrogations at Gitmo, were subject to abuse and COULD facilitate torture or a violation of rights to the detainees. Remember, even WITH the enhanced interrogations, the Bush Administration maintains there was NEVER any torture. So it seems a bit disingenuous to now be claiming you were only against the "torture" part back then, since none was ever happening.

Without a facility like Gitmo, where the hell do you suppose we would interrogate people like KSM? The Holiday Inn?

I gave you a cite where your hero Rummy said differently.. You cant seem to finda cite to support your story....

The Congressman is pretty much a quote for that side if you want one. I don't think it matters if it was waterboarding. They still use "strong" interrogation techniques, only one was removed from the "okay" list. Stress positions, etc.

Basically what Congressman King said was that KSM gave up the name, then later when an aid was caught he corroborated that information while being waterboarded in a different nation (rendition).

Anyway, the information most certainly came in while rebuilding humint techniques that were given up in the 90s for technology. We had to continue to rebuild HUMINT in order to get close enough to follow the dude and verify where Osama actually was. Just knowing who was the mule doesn't give us the mule's destination.

good lord....you really believe that liberals were opposed to any and all techniques.....simply dumbfounding

you're a liberal plant dixie

Such fucking bullshit. "Liberals Were opposed to all interrogation techniques...." what a crock of shit! You are so pitiful, you got called out on a made up story and now are doubling down....

Made up?

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42880435/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/

WASHINGTON — Intelligence garnered from waterboarded detainees was used to track down al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and kill him, CIA Chief Leon Panetta told NBC News on Tuesday.

That's pretty definitive, Jarod.

I asked you a question asswipe, why don't you TRY and answer it? If we closed Gitmo, where would we take detainees to interrogate them? What interrogation methods have liberals endorsed and approved of, and link me up with some evidence to support this? Now, if you just want to suck liberal ass some more, that's fine... I know you like the taste of it, but if you want to be taken seriously here, you really need to step up and answer my damn question.

Do you have memory of people arguing that they should receive Miranda rights? I do, but it was from SR's site, not this one. It may also be faulty memory.

I do remember that, and lawyers and US jurisprudence, and Constitutional rights, and everything else! The Liberals have spent the last decade on this, and now they suddenly want us to all just forget it. Why were they so adamant about closing Gitmo? Why were they so adamant about bringing KSM to the US for trial? The whole argument from the left has been AGAINST interrogation, but suddenly... we're supposed to believe they didn't really mean all that stuff... they were just talking about the "torture" ....which was never proven to have happened! They called ALL the interrogation techniques "torture" ...that was the whole deal here! They are still railing about waterboarding, even in light of Panetta's confession that this is how we obtained the info on OBL!

THat came out after Dixie and I had started argueing, later information gives credence to Dixie's story, until then it was made up. Just because it turned out to be true, he had no evidence when he made it up.

He did, he had Congressman King's statements from earlier.

No Dixie, Panetta did not say that was "how we obtained THE info on O(sic)BL."

He never cited that, and I had not seen it. I only called it made up after he could not come up with a cite.

and now there is an open question and conflict between Panetta's statements and Rummy's.

One is a current Obama-appointed CIA Head, and the other is a former SecDef of a Previous President.

Yeah, I give the "win" to the current head of the CIA who has been on record against waterboarding. It's more of an admission than it is a proud declaration.

You have a good point, I find it interesting that these two men are giving conflicting information that does not support there positions, I respect honesty over agenda.

most liberals have embarrassingly backed off the gitmo closing issue...i was never for closing it.

it is up to YOU to prove that liberals were opposed to any and all techniques...YOU made the claim, YOU back it up. real simple dixie.

Isn't it cute, righties who condemned Panetta since day 1 now joyfully quote him to "prove" their beloved torture works.

You can listen to what the right really thinks of Panetta here:

assume i don't like panetta...(i have no feelings either way)...what is wrong with using his statements as evidence or proof that waterboarding helped? your logic is inane...it is like saying if a murderer confesses...we shouldn't believe it or use it because we don't like the murderer

:palm:

The only reason I was ever for closing Gitmo was because of the bad name it had incured as a result of Bush Administration policies. I was never opposed to building a camp that was exactly the same as GITMO with a different name. What matters to me is not the location as the actions taking place in the location.
