looks like repukes will have to stay with the real stuff.
Spending our grandkids money
class warfare
redistribution of wealth labeled as healthcare
attacking every industry with a profit
stuff like that
Put simply - if it had turned out to be a disaster Obama would have been forever remembered, by his opponents, as a terrible President who messed everything up rather than a terrible President who got one decision correct and fucked everything else up.
Sports fans can think of many analogies of coaches who went for it on 4th down or tried a trick play etc. If the team makes it the coach is praised if they don't he's a bum type of deal. Pretty similar to here.
While I disagree that Obama is comparable to the loosing sports fan, you have illistrated my point. It would be a sad comentary on Democracy if President Obama were reelected based simply because people liked this one incident.
Kinda like the outpouring of defense for John Kerry for meeting with the Viet Cong and negoiating with the enemy in the middle of a hot war....while out troops were fighting and dieing....And Reagan is never vilified for undermining the President of the United States and negotiating with the enemy.

some of you pinheads still, even today, only show little or mild misgivings about traitors like Jane Fonda and her ilk....
We know all about the double standards and selective memory of the lefties over the years.....![]()
I don't think this guarantees his re-election by any means. The euphoria we feel today will wear off in 18 months. But it is definitely something he will (rightly) point to when he is making his case for four more years. He deserves credit for what happened.

Obama put shit together....I agree, he should get credit... not necessarly for the result, but for making the gutsy decision and putting together a team that led to the decision.
It won't....but it don't hurt his chances either. On the other hand...had the mission failed, it probably would have cost him re-election. So he took a huge political gamble by authorizing this mission. With 20:20 hindsight, he obviously made the right decision.
no one would have known if it failed
it would have simply been another mission in pakistan...no one would know the target
