Osama Bin Laden DEAD!

ID - If waterboarding were so goddamned effective why in the hell didn't KSM give up the name of the courier one of the 183 times it was applied to him?

In the 10 sessions used on KSM he gave up the information-but used a code name. It was enough when combined with later Intel to lead to yesterday's killing bin Laden.

He also became cooperative, providing intelligence that led to the capture of key al Qaeda allies and, eventually, the closing down of an East Asian terrorist cell that had been tasked with carrying out the 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles.

Rendition and extraordinary rendition are two different things. I've explained this to Dixie before but he refuses to acknowledge it. Extraordinary rendition almost always involves torture.

There is not much distinction, especially if you are a left wing liberal. Rendition is the practice of taking a prisoner to an undisclosed location, usually in a foreign country, where they are led to believe they are being interrogated by someone other than Americans. Neither "extraordinary" or regular rendition has ever involved "torture" as this violates the Geneva Convention. The only difference between "extraordinary" rendition, and regular rendition, is the location. If it is in a US military installation, it is "regular" and if it's in a facility of an ally (in a foreign country), it is "extraordinary."

In any event, the techniques and interrogation methods utilized by G.W. Bush, is ultimately what led to the information on OBL. The same methods and practices you and the rest of your idiot friends protested and tried for 8 years to STOP! Thank God you didn't succeed.

Kudo's to the Seal team that capped the late asshole known as Osama.
The burial at sea was the best follow up in the world.
I wonder how many of the other terrorist leaders are scurrying for high ground.

Where have you been, dude? Are things going better for you?

I've been around; but I've just been busier then all get out.
After reading all the posts; I hope everyone stops long enough to think that Osama's passing, at the hands of the US Navy Seals, will probably cause certain unsavory groups to try and escalate their behavior.

Personally, it wouldn't have bothered me to see Osama's head on a pike and displayed on the White House lawn; but then, that's just me.

You should try actually reading and comprehending the words I post and stop trying to filter them through your pinhead translator, that's the problem here, you fucktards are incapable of understanding anything I say, because you keep wanting me to be saying something I haven't said. No translation is needed... it is sad that Obama can't take ALL THE CREDIT here, that we have to honestly and objectively share the credit with Bush and Clinton, as well as our outstanding military who made it happen. I really do hate that for you liberals, but the more you attempt to give all the credit to Obama and besmirch Bush, the more it will hurt you politically, because people aren't generally as stupid as you are. If this is playing well with you base, great... I love that you have something to hang your hats on, but don't think you are going to fool the American people into believing a crock of shit, they will reject it, and you will pay a price for trying to go that route.

Ah - the ol' "this is hurting you politically" routine.

Dixie - America is a state of huge celebration right now. People are cheering throughout the national anthem at sporting events, partying in the streets, raising a glass to our troops. But your very 1st reaction was panic that this would somehow benefit Obama politically.

I had a very un-Buddhist grin on my face when I heard he had been killed. It grew a bit when I found out it was Navy guys who done the deed. I'll have to do some Karma fixing...

The new General in charge made a point of it in interviews that very evening, warning that al Qaeda in particular would want to strike in "retaliation".

OH, I sure that your little "indulgence" is forgiven. LOL

The General is going to have to wait, until he gets all their NEW E-Mail addresses; seeing as how everyone's probably busy changing the ability to contact them.

Well.

You're back.

No, my first reaction was to reel you back to Earth... you were about to float away! I merely reminded you that liberal ideology was opposed to taking this kind of action when Bush was president, and asked you why you were so happy about it. Hey, I am glad you accept the fact that rendition and waterboarding terror suspects gets results, and sending in boots on the ground is the most effective means of handling these types of situations. I am tickled that liberals now willingly accept all of Bush's policies on the War on Terror... I predicted this would happen years ago... I said, the best thing that could happen for the War on Terror is to elect a pinhead Democrat, so you fuckwits would all jump on board with it... and by golly, I was 100% right about that, because here you are! I think that is GREAT!

Oh, and I know the whole world is celebrating... I am celebrating too! I am happy, elated, joyful, exuberant, gleeful, and proud! I want you to read that last sentence over again, because I want it to sink into your thick head, that I am not unhappy, disappointed, frustrated, angry, mad, upset or full of sour grapes, as you seem to believe I am. If it makes you feel better to think that's how I feel, then you go right ahead and think it, you are a fucktarded pinhead, I really don't care.

After finally having time to read the news and see how it went down, I have to give Obama credit for this operation. He asked for opinions from his top advisors, and then slept on it. He then made a decision to go with the helicopter assault. Once he did that , he left the professionals to do their job. Will done, President Obama.

Seems to me both presidents deserve some measure of credit.

After further review and some articles I read, it now seems to me Clinton should be included in the list of presidents who deserve some measure of credit. This effort was begun under President Clinton prior to 9/11.

??? Its possable that he gave it up because we stoped Waterboarding him.

Well, even if that cockamamie idea were true, didn't waterboarding play a role? Personally, I can't see a person refusing to give up specific information while being waterboarded, then afterward, thinking... meh, I'll give 'em what they want since they stopped. It just doesn't make much rational sense, but then, look who is coming up with that?

Here's the deal, Jarhead... No matter how you look at this, the interrogation techniques, whether it be waterboarding, rendition, loud music, sleep deprivation, messing with the thermostat... all of which you liberals called "torture" and wanted to haul Bush and Cheney to a War Crimes tribunal over... those techniques are ultimately what lead to the information on where OBL was. Now you can PRETEND it was different... maybe when Obama became president, he started giving them ice cream and cookies, and that's what broke them? But.... this info on the courier came 4 years ago, before Obama was president. Not to mention the fact that Obama extended many of the Bush policies on interrogation, and definitely wasn't using the ice cream and cookies approach.

*Let me also credit Clinton policies as well, because most of the Bush interrogation methods had been implemented under Clinton.
