What 'remarks'? Be specific.
Ok
so, i'm guessing that you don't believe in the so called slippery slope argument, right?

You got it.

Here you said incrementalism (or the Slippery Slope, they're typically interchangeable) doesn't exist.
The Jews would beg to differ.
I retorted that the Jews, victims of incementalism, would differ on your opinion.
The Jews?

Oh, wrong picture...I'll fix that...

To which you reply with this, implying that you do not believe in the holocaust, or that you support Hitlers goal of Jew extermination.

Ok

The holocaust was not ' incrementalism'... try again...

The stupidity.... it is too much to take.

Are you serious? How is it not incrementalism? Small steps eventually leading to genocide and then expanding the genocide to include others?

I mean.... I don't even have the capacity to try and explain this to someone with your clinical level of stupid. These are basic historical facts.

EVERYTHING that happened in history could be called incremental. We are witnessing the paranoid right wing mind...fear filled, feeble, insecure and a victim.

Let me ask you about your fairy tale Einstein, WHO will play the part of the Jew in America...YOU???

It depends on the circumstance. As a gun owner, I have played the part of the jew to a certain extent.

But go on, just assume that in 1939 Hitler said "Hey Germany! We're killing Jews, Slavs, Gays, Gypsies, Catholics, and blacks now!" Apparently that's how it went in your mind anyways.

For a second I forgot you were a statist and alwasy approved of government action.

If he was Einstein he certainly could.

Anyway, not "everything" in history could be considered incrementalism. Only things that started small, then incrementally increased into something larger.

Tiny steps, first stars sewn on shirt, then brownshirts trashing their businesses, an increase in propaganda to demonize them, then moving people into certain areas of the city, then making them slave labor, then moving them to Poland into camps designed to kill as many as possible, those are incremental steps.

The reality is that almost all of the worst parts of history can be shown as incremental steps into the most horrific action by people who otherwise never would have done it.

If the first step was "kill all Jews" then Nazism would have died an early political demise.

But the paranoid right wing mind is always able to 'spot' the first step. Like THIS is the equal of Hitler's youth...

Right, and the same argument from the other side is never "paranoid"...

The "slippery-slope" is not always a fallacy, incremental steps towards a horrible result are often found in history. It simply isn't "irrational" or "paranoid" to take the direct statement of a person in power and extrapolate a position from it. Especially in such positions where they directly state they are using incremental steps to reach a larger goal.

We can take when Obama stated numerous times that he must work in incremental steps to obtain single-payer government provided health care to mean he was actually working in that direction.

We can take when Obama states that he is working towards gun control incrementally or "behind the scenes" to mean he really is doing that.

Both of those are not "paranoia", they actually take what he says he will do and then extrapolates that he is actually doing it.

I haven't read the thread but I can tell that Bfgrn got pwned, because he's posting more silly pictures as responses.

So let me get this straight. You are comparing single payer health CARE, which would mean every American could have access to affordable health CARE to the Nazi extermination of the Jews?

So you want to preserve a system where 45,000 Americans die every year because they don't have access to affordable health CARE. And WHO is the Nazi exterminator?

One that confounds good and evil is an enemy to good.

One again, they are not equal in intent, only in process.

I quoted your post, own it.

This post is seriously stupid. You stated that the holocaust wasn't incrementalism, not me. I simply showed you that it most certainly was.

The reality is that incrementalism is real, pretending that every mention of it is some fallacy is just illogical nonsense.

As to what I want to do with health care... What I'd like to do is create a system that controls costs and does not give the government access to my medical decisions, and especially doesn't give the government control over all health care. Making government the sole provider of health care is a serious step in the wrong direction.

Now, some idiot may try to say it is the "same thing" in one direction or the other as "nazi" but that is also nonsense. Not all incrementalism is "nazi", but pretending that it doesn't exist so you can try to associate everything somebody says with "nazi" is plain stupid.
