Don't be fooled

Interesting concept of freedom, you would just watch while a whole generation of poor kids are brought up on a diet of shitburgers and freedom fries.
There is nothing in the definition of 'freedom' that comes close to the stupidity you post....look it up....I agree with the definition in EVERY way....
I don't force anyone to eat anything, including 'shitburgers' you seem to be so familiar with.....if you want to eat em, eat em....if fries are your thing, eat em....its none of my business what you eat....
I'd suggest a little anti-freeze for you, but thats only a suggestion.

Well I am left of you certainly, but that's not saying much. I think of fascism as a form of social Darwinism which is exactly what you are advocating.
Then it would be to your advantage to get a dictionary.....and learn....(don't tell me topshit was right and you are an ignorant ged)

These children didn't choose their parents, so the state has an obligation to try to protect them by education and guidance. I expect you would be against using schools to teach better nutrition as well, all in the name of "freedom".

that really can't be your official outlook on life, can it? do kids belong to the state?

Freedom to bring up a generation of children who will be so obese and unhealthy that they are likely to die before their parents.

Or freedom to feed my children as I choose. I doubt the school serves healthy vegetarian lunches.

I am sure we could all look at most families and see things that could be done better. But the fact that we are free raise our children as we see fit is important.

If a child is so obese as to be a health problem, call in Children's Services. If you want to ban sodas or whatever, then do so. But to ban a parent's control over what their children eat is simply not right.

They are citizens of the state certainly, if there was another war like WW2, the state would soon claim them for national service. Your view seems to be who gives a fuck, just because their parents are morons why should I care? Hardly a Christian viewpoint

Sounds like Fascism to me, would you also get rid of the disabled and educationally sub normal? Come to that, why do you send poor kids to school anyway?

Absolute bullshit. No one is promoting obesity. They are saying that people have the right to freedoms. This also brings with it the freedom to succeed or fail on their own.

The fact that some kids eat junk somehow gives the gov't the right to remove the freedoms of all of the kids (or their parents) in that school to bring their own lunch?

No, he did not say "get rid" of anyone. And anyone who wants or needs a free lunch already has that. You are now after the freedoms of all of the parents.

I agree....that state does have an obligation to educate and guide the children to a degree.....the state should teach children to read and write, but not what God or religion to follow or not follow....
to learn what foods are healthy and what foods are not healthy, but not dictate or force those foods down your throat.....
I don't have to go on and on....my meaning is clear to non-pinheads....and I won't nitpick the definitions of words with you that are plain to all of us....

You think all poor kids come from homes where they only get junkfood? Now who is the bigot?

And the state has an obligation to stay out of it until the parent does something wrong. This program fails at that. It basically says that none of the parents in the entire school system knows how to feed their children a healthy lunch.

So you are advocating that the state owns the children because they might one day be drafted and they are citizens of the state?

That is truly scary. Much scarier than the rampant obesity.

Now you're gonna imply we should live by your idea of Christian values....?...
How about Jewish values?....not good enough for you....
How about Muslim values?....you and your friends seem to defend them all the time...are they good enough for you...?

your first mistake is thinking i'm a christian. your second mistake is forgetting who created what, as in the citizens created the state and not the other way around. your third mistake is thinking I agree with the draft or national service. that's another majorly fucked up decision that the supreme court created out of their ass.

I think that you were born 200 years too late.

FYI, 18-year-olds are not legally children, hence the reason why they can be drafted. While 17-year-olds can enlist--with parental permission--they cannot be drafted, and the military knows they won't be able to get deployed, due to waiting periods and training, until their 18th birthday has arrived.

Of course I'm not saying that, I was trying to point out that the state has the power over people to draft them when it sees fit. Yet when somebody says that the authorities should play some role in educating and guiding kids to eat healthily, you get all the backwoodsmen coming out and saying that not why we fought and died for freedom.
