Mitt Romney announces exploratory committee for presidential bid

This must have been from the "No Duh!" section of the News... I mean, who didn't think Mitt was going to throw his hat in that ring?

Reporting from Washington—Mitt Romney is taking the first step toward a full-blown presidential campaign, announcing Monday the formation of an exploratory committee that's likely the precursor to his second White House run.

Excellent news! I firmly believe Mitt will be our next President.

He's got to much crap on his hands.

I think he's only in it for the money he can raise.

I can only trust that you are wrong. No good can come from Romney. He is an enemy of the people.

If you asked me in late 2007 / early 2008, I would have had the same response. However, I have since observed many Reagan-esque qualities in Romney. I believe he has what it takes to be a great President, a great leader.

Let's wait and see what happens in the next 12 months.

A lot can happen by then.

Romney and I are much alike. The only difference is that whereas he is working to become a god, I have already achieved this.

The GOP field right now looks incredibly weak....

In comparison to The Obama? :)

I dont particularly like many of his political positions, but he is a reasonable man and I would be okay with him being president. He would be better than W, by a degree of about 1000.

If the Republicans nominate Palin or Gingrich or some yokle like that I will be very discusted and feel like I did when they nominated Bush. If they nominate Romney or this guy who is ambassador to China or some others... I will not likely vote for them, but I will agree that they are fairly reasonable and that the nation will be in good hands, just not hands I agree with.

Carter was a horrible President. Bush Sr. was not much better. Obama has been a pathetic President thus far. Reagan and Clinton are the only two on your list that were effective leaders.

I am not talking about disagreeing with policies, I am talking about ineptness and intelegence to stand in the office. I disagreed a lot with much or what Reagan did and more so with Bush Sr., but they were qualified for the job. There is a difference. Many disagreed with Carter, but he was qualified and intelegent enough for the job.

Being 'intelligent' does not make one a good President by itself. Carter, Obama and Bush Sr were all 'intelligent' enough.... yet none of them were/are effective leaders.
