If they were going to cave to where the Democrats were demanding a week ago, why push it to the brink, unless it's all politics???

Boehner victory.

Yet many budget hawks want to cut spending much, much further.

As bitter as the weekslong fight was, it served merely as a warm-up for bigger and more consequential battles to come. Some Republicans say they will vote against raising the federal debt ceiling in a few weeks unless it is accompanied by a plan to rein in deficits. In addition the GOP has laid out cuts and proposals in its budget plan for the next fiscal year that dwarf the deal struck Friday in scope and size.

I posted a thread about the shutdown being avoided last night, and no one has commented. I guess you libtards are still at the wake for Obamacare or something? Yes Bohner finally accepted the Democrats numbers, only a few billion less than what Republicans were asking for, but the kicker was having Harry Reid promise to bring funding for Planned Parenthood and Obamacare to the floor for a vote. He had previously vowed to never do such a thing. Democrats had to stand on their ear and spin plates with their feet to get this done the first time, and with the overwhelming unpopularity brewing for more than a year, I seriously doubt they can get it passed again. This is a HUGE victory for the TEA Party, and everyone who opposes Obamacare.

Enlighten me? What happened.... Looks like the Democrats got what they wanted.

Mark this for review later....

I disagree with Dickerson........

Obama wanted Budget cuts, Obama wanted to perserve funding for Planned Parenthood, Obama wanted a budget passed without a shutdown.....

What did the Republicans get that the President did not want?

First of all, Obama didn't want the budget cuts or he would have submitted them in his original budget proposal to Congress. Democrats didn't "preserve" funding for Planned Parenthood, it will be brought to the floor for a vote, and I predict it will be defunded. No one WANTED a shutdown, and everyone WANTED a budget passed. None of that was ever in question.

I don't really give a shit if you disagree with Einstein on the Theory of Relativity...it ain't gonna change the facts on who are perceived as the winners and losers in this...

It's still real to me!!

This whole process was like professional wrestling. Both sides played their parts to continue to divide us among ourselves. Stop falling for it.

Glad to hear about your precition regarding Planned Parenthood, makes me feel even more secure in its continued funding.

The president wanted a budget cut, he wanted a big one, he did not give away the farm because he knew it would be a negotiation, looks like he got what he wanted to me. I cant wait till the Presidental Debate when he brags about the largest one year spending cut in history!

faux news is harmfull to America as it distorts reality for a huge segment who wants it distorted.

so you're going to stop watching CBS?.....

Why would they stop watching See B.S. News? If it gives you what you want to hear, there is no reason to change is there? I mean, not everybody is going to watch CNN and MSNBC along with FOX and PBS News shows to get a good solid look at all sides. Only the most dedicated might do that.
