Shutdown Avoided, Reid Promises Vote on Repeal of Obamacare!

In a stunning 11th-hour deal, the Democrats and Republicans have settled the budget dispute for fiscal year 2011. Both the riders for funding of Planned Parenthood and Obamacare, will be brought to the floor a separate items for a vote. Bohner caved somewhat on the numbers, at around $39 billion, but to get a floor vote on repeal of Obamacare makes it pretty much a home run for the GOP.

Okay, bring on the spinning pinheads to explain to me why this was a win for Obama and Democrats, and a loss for Bohner and Republicans.... I know they are busy working on the angle, and this should be a doozie!
 
The goal was to get righties all riled up about pay for the military to get the military on the same level as congress when shutdowns occur, so the military will unquestioningly support the elitists against the rest of the nation when the time comes to implement the new world order.

All the wire stories today are staying away from that aspect. It is mentioned, but only way down in the articles, and almost dismissively. The thinking is, the Senate won't get the 60 votes needed to defund Obamacare, but that remains to be seen. Many moderate Democrats had trouble with it the first go-around, and the Senate couldn't have passed the bill that was eventually sent to the House, after Scott Brown's election, so I wouldn't be too confident in getting the 60 votes needed. I happen to think this was huge, getting an up or down vote on funding for Obamacare before the 2012 elections... that's a dream come true for those who oppose it. Granted, Obama will likely veto any repeal, but at least we have Congress on record, and this will eat up a lot of time for Democrats who are now dead in the water with the liberal agenda.

What's so perfect is that the Dems. will once again have to publicly tie that albatross around their necks! We all saw how well that worked out for them before :)
 
The big story that came out of Friday was that Obama is bipartisan as promised, and that Republicans once again reiterated how little they care for poor women.

Yeah - that's definitely a Sheen-like win for the GOP...

Yeah, I was glad to hear him say it was important to cut the budget so that we can grow the economy and create jobs, since that is what conservatives have been saying for the past, oh i don't know, FOREVER!

But really, it's good that he has come around to this way of thinking, because there are a lot more things we will be cutting, to create more jobs and help the economy even more... so now that we have President Obama on board, it shouldn't be any problem to make the needed cuts, right? ...Heck, if he can balance his budget next year, I might even consider voting for him!!

As long as you agree that "needed cuts" also means at least 1/3 off the military budget, we're on the same page...
 
I think it's funny that you guys think that having the Senate vote on Obamacare repeal is some huge deal. First of all, all of Democrats already voted for it so having them vote for it again isn't going to change anything at all. 2004 and "voted for it before voted against it" wasn't so long ago. To the extent voting for Obamacare was a negative, voting against it now isn't going to change that prior vote. And even if it would, then it just gives Democrats the opportunity to change their vote. If they vote to repeal and it passes, who cares? Obama will just veto it.

I am not so certain it was "the" plan-but with dems willing to allow military families to go without pay in order to protect a few hundred million dollars to state run news agencies and abortion mills...well it was certainly a goodie and will help with 2012 elections if they vote to preserve obamacare.

If Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Jack Kingston (R-GA) sponsored H.R. 1297, the House version of the Ensuring Pay for Our Military Act. had been passed, there would have been no compromise from Republicans. If you can in any way make calls in support of this bill do so.

He also will be presiding over the largest ever one year spending reduction.

lol.....I can see it already.....a dozen years from now libs will be bragging that a Democratic president was the first to reduce spending in mid-year, thus proving that Republicans are bigger spenders....

I would be more impressed with this "bipartisan" action if it had happened in the summer of 2010, when they were SUPPOSED to have written this year's budget......
