So Libs... What's the economic plan for $10 gal. gasoline?

Both can produce a minute amount of electricity....big whoop....

Do you even have a clue how many things are possible because of oil....?
Even a small clue?

I give up .... it just ain't worth the trouble to school pinheads on subjects and issues that are so far over their heads....

Ever compare western life to the barbaric, stone age-like existence of most of the clowns in the Middle East...
Thats the way I feel about talking to liberal Democrats.:fu:

Really looking toward the future there, bravs. Cuz, ya know - oil is going to last forever.

You sound like a guy in the '80's saying that computers will never do much for us...

Congratulations, hack. You got the last 3 words right.

So, your plan is to get the U.S. off of foreign oil for a few decades, and then see another panic as we haven't made any headway into more renewable sources.

Smart.

No, my plan is to DRILL BABY DRILL domestically, and eliminate our need to buy oil from OPEC. The mere announcement that we are going to expand domestic exploration of oil, will cause speculators to speculate we will have an abundant supply in the future, and oil futures will decline in price as a result, meaning, we will have lower prices at the pump, almost immediately.

Renewable energy sources are fine and dandy, but this needs to be done by the private sector, according to what consumers want and need, and not some governmental mandate, telling us what we are going to do! If some entrepreneur develops something marketable to replace gasoline, GREAT! I am for that 100%... in fact, we can even offer tax incentives to encourage such a thing.... but this windmill/solar panel shit is way off the charts as far as being a viable alternative today, or in the foreseeable future... unless Fascist Socialist ram it down our throats like they did with health care reform.

You're comfortable turning something so integral to national security, our economy & overall way of life over to the private sector and the whims of the marketplace?

Glad you're not running things, Dix....

I trust capitalism and the free market system and you don't... that's the difference in our viewpoints!

We're talking about ENERGY POLICY, Dix. Would you trust consumers to decide military policy, or other matters of national security?

Consumers will bail on oil about a week before we have a real shortage, maybe less - and it will take decades to transform our infrastructure to adapt to other sources.

So much for Dixie's "plan"....

At least a thousand years...........on domestic oil alone.

What the fuck are you even talking about? Consumers will buy gasoline as long as people sell fucking gasoline, because that's what all our cars and trucks run on! IDIOT! If something great and wonderful comes along that is just as good as gasoline, but less expensive, then consumers will buy that! The best way to achieve such a thing, is to allow private sector business to develop and market something that can compete with gasoline.

This isn't "national security" or "national defense" ....DIMWIT! This is not even "energy policy" ....our energy policy needs to be, to free ourselves of foreign dependency, PERIOD! If that means more domestic drilling, then DRILL BABY DRILL! If that means offering tax incentives to some Einstein who wants to develop some fuel source besides gasoline, FINE...all for it! But this mamby-pamby liberal environmental obfuscation regarding domestic drilling, is going to have to END! We just can't afford your stupid double-speak anymore!

JH christ dude....OIL IS integral to our national security, our economy & overall way of life
And you're comfortable depending on Mexico, Saudi Arabia and other Islamic nations for our very life blood...OIL...

Do you ever think.

Poor bravs - can't read. Yes, bravs - oil is integral to our security & economy, which is why I have said about a dozen times on this thread alone that I support domestic drilling, wherever & whenever.

ENERGY POLICY is what I'm talking about - oil is a big part of that today, but will be less & less so a few decades down the line.

You are so unbelievably braindead. I'm the one here that supports a comprehensive policy for domesticating all energy; you're the one who is myopic & partisan.

Nice job...

Wow.... If I didn't know better, it sounds as if Liberals have always been all in favor of domestic drilling! Unfortunately, I do know better, and I suspect this is just more double-speak.... TODAY he is for domestic drilling, but whenever the first piece of legislation comes up for a vote, he will be finding a way to 'exempt' himself from support, because it fails to meet some arbitrary criteria that he isn't telling us about here. These people don't change, they haven't ever been for domestic drilling, that's why we have empty oil rigs in the gulf as we speak!

Don't project your partisan hackery all over me, please.

And it's nice to see how welcoming you are of an agreeable viewpoint from someone on the left; that will work out great for you nationally when it comes to the coalition you'll need to advance domestic drilling.

I won't have to worry about it... by the end of this summer, I bet about 98% of America will be SCREAMING for us to drill domestically!

Yeah....that "coalition" will consist of 70% of the American people and all the Republicans in Washington....:)

Well, I am talking about drilling for example in a location that can be controlled v. one that cannot, drilling in an enviromentally sensative area v. drilling in a less enviromentally sensative area. Drilling in deep water where if a disaster occures it cannot as easily be contained v. drilling in shallow water where if a disaster occures it can be more easily contained.

As with any endevor, there are safe ways and dangerous ways.

When my 16 year old first starts to drive, I am going to let her drive... but I am not going to give her the keys and say, DRIVE BABY DRIVE. I am going to give her the keys and say, common sense driving! I am not going to let her on the innerstate the first time out, and I am not going to let her drive at 3 AM when the bars let out.

DAMN STRAIGHT.
She should take a cab home, when she leaves the bar at 3 AM. :good4u:

How ugly is your daughter that she's still in the bar at 3am.

Damn if she takes after her mom, you have my sympathies.
