So Libs... What's the economic plan for $10 gal. gasoline?

Well, Dixie, what is your great plan, invade Arabia? It is always the solution of the Repubs, start a war.

You bitch, but you have no solution...sounds like a conservative to me, there Sweetie!

Well, one of your fellow pinheads has already informed us, the price of oil is determined by the speculators. The speculators speculate on the future supply of oil... if they see the Middle East going up in flames, it's pretty much a no-brainer the supply of oil is likely to be diminished in the future... so prices go up. That being said, Obama could do what Bush did and what Reagan did... he seems to not have a real problem with that lately... In the past, what Republicans did, was increase domestic production of oil. When that happens, the speculators can speculate the oil supply will be plentiful in the future, and guess what happens to the price? Yes, it goes DOWN!

Hey, Dix...what do you think about putting another "democracy team" together on this? Do you think that would work?

I'm just curious about this... now that it's pretty clear the rising gas prices are not because of Bush's Big Oil friends, but because of OPEC and what's happening in the Middle East. It's pretty obvious what our foreign policy is going to be there, so I am just wondering, how do the Democrats plan to rescue the economy when gas tops $10 a gallon?

The way I see it, this is going to be difficult at best, and I don't believe the voters are going to buy that it's the fault of Republicans or GW Bush... so, you better be thinking of something quickly! As the price of fuel rises, it's common sense that consumer goods are going to rise proportionally in price, along with the inflation we're already seeing because of 'quantitative easing' by the Feds.

I guess we can remain in denial a little while longer, but eventually, even the dumbest of the dumb are going to catch on here. Markets are all still fairly good at the moment, but that will likely change as well. It's about to get really bad across the board, I am afraid, and Democrats seem to be a bit flat-footed on this, no one is even talking about it. Shouldn't we be developing a "plan" for when we have gas that no one can afford?

No worries Dixie. All we need to do is tap into the gaseous discharges of all you anal retentive conservatives and the problem is solved forever!

What is the plan from the right?

They control the House

The Dems have asked Obama to open the reserves if things get bad, I guess you didn't hear that plan, now what is the right proposing, you guys are suppose to have to the solutions, remember, that is why you got the bog landslide in November! So come on Repubs, start working your voodoo magic!

1) Drill every site we have access to for nat gas and oil

2) Shift from gasoline to nat gas for vehicles... starting with the infrastructure build out. We use about 70% of our oil for transportation. This would dramatically shift our consumption to a cleaner burning nat gas.

3) Algae based biofuel production ramp up. It is far more efficient than the moronic plan of using crops. Not only will this be more efficient for fuel production, but it will also free up the 25% of our crops that we currently use for biofuels. Bet that takes a bite out of the increase in food prices we have seen recently. Algae also lives off of taking contaminants out of the air and its 'waste' product is a high carb food source for livestock... which again helps reduce grain consumption.

Rana: The Dems have asked Obama to open the reserves if things get bad, I guess you didn't hear that plan...

I been wondering about that... Our strategic reserves are in the ground in Louisiana. Now.... we can somehow manage to get it out of the ground in Louisiana without causing harm to the environment, but we can't drill and get it out of the ground without causing damage? Does this make sense to anyone?

And in the short run?

These are good ideas for the future, thanks

Please, please.....no mocking....Jarhead has a degree like Toploon and even a "postgraduate" degree....unlike Toploon....

:rofl::lol:

and he fancies himself a rich liberal also....

All these supposedly well-educated liberals yet you pwn them regularly.

Socialist!

The Founders designed in a certain amount of socialism, per Article I Section 8. If my memory is correct, "Post roads" are included. If you want more socialism you'll need to pass an Amendment. Or, just cheat as has been the fashion since FDR. *shrug*

And in the short run?

DING DING DING DING DING!!

You said the MAGIC word! FUTURE! As in FUTURES... as in FUTURES EXCHANGE... as where "Speculators" cause the price of oil to rise due to speculation there won't be much in the FUTURE! Get it??????????

Probably not! :palm:

I wasn't having this conversation with you, you are once again, confused!

More like impractical. For a nation as large as the U.S. and for one with such a high concentration (or lack there of rather) of our population in rural areas. Mass public transit simply isn't feasible. Now you could incentive larger urban areas to do so, but most already have their own system in place, with the exception of Detroit, because it's too large for such a system to be cost effective.

Well dixie i believe some crisis will justify martial law from here on in... The EndGame is upon us. Reelection is not an issue.

Yes, AssHat, the end game is close.

Here's something you might find interesting.

(Excerpt) Nothing has so clearly demonstrated the reasons for the Second
Amendment and the reasons it must be defended than when on Dec. 14,1981,when Gen. Jaruzelski declared martial law in Poland, placed all press under total government control, and declared all firearms licenses and gun registration certificates void — requiring the licensed owners to turn in their registered guns within 48 hours. Of course, since the government knew where every gun was — except those in the hands of criminals — they had no choice but to comply.

Author's Note: This is a lesson that we hope to learn only from reading and
not in the manner learned by the Poles and Lithuanians. After reading the
above, I hope you will agree with me that anyone who attempts to subvert the Second Amendment or any other section or legal amendment of the Constitution is a traitor and should be arrested and tried for treason. I hope that you will copy this chapter and distribute it as widely as possible, to as many people as possible. Education is more than half the battle.
In case you have not guessed by now, the fact that most Americans own at least one firearms weapon is the only thing that has kept the New World Order at bay.
