They dont agree with the real Reagan often.

They always agree with the fictional Reagan they have created to replace him.

The sweeping mass firing of federal employees slowed commercial air travel, but it did not cripple the system as the strikers had forecast. In carrying out his threat, Reagan also imposed a lifetime ban on rehiring the strikers. In October 1981, the Federal Labor Relations Authority decertified PATCO.

Some former striking controllers were allowed to reapply after 1986 and were rehired; they and their replacements are now represented by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association which was organized in 1987 and had no connection with PATCO. Clinton rescinded the lifetime ban on federal service in 1993. It was to take over 10 years for staffing levels to get back to normal after the ban.

The right hates all unions and have worked against them for decades.

They dont want them arround because they are the only big source of election money that doesnt go to them.

No one has claimed love or hate of private unions in this thread. What I did do, now pay attention dear, is to point out that you cannot equate a position on public unions with that of one towards private unions based on what Reagan said as intimated by the OP. Reagan, the ultimate "righty" supported private unions- further he supported the restrictions of public unions put in place by Carter the ultimate "lefty" and showcased in his famous firing of ATC workers.


Now see if you can stop laughing long enough to allow some oxygen to your brain so that you can keep up :D
