Mike Huckabee slams pregnant Natalie Portman

Is it really any of a presidental canidate's business if people choose to get married or not?

I know social conservatives belive the government should get into these issues but do most...?

We do?

Did Huckabee say that he wanted to take government action against Portman?

Dood, he was speaking about the culture not about legislation. Can you tell me what proposed "law" he was promoting?

Huckabee did it poorly and allowed an interviewer to control the message rather than controlling it himself. This personalized the issue and opened this gate. It has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with Huckabee making a fatal mistake in his own campaign. Handing "the liberals" the ammunition isn't a wise campaign strategy.

Yeah right. Like Liberals need to be handed much to make it an issue.

I never said he was proposing or promoting a law.

Its none of the governments busniess, about the culture, only about the legislation.

If these people get married or not is not the governments business and I dont want presidental canidates weighing in on what they belive about the morals of the culture.... It is illrelevant to the job they are applying for.

Tooo many social conservatives care what there canidates belive about the culture... as if they belive that the governmetn should be involved.

Eh; you've been proven wrong countless times, even on this thread. But admitting it is another issue.

lol.....if by "admitting it" you mean accepting your opinion, you right.....getting me to "admit it" is clearly impossible....and thank you for inadvertently providing me with more evidence to show Rama.....

Is it important to you that your canidate comment on the correctness of the morals of our citizens? Or do you belive like I do that its none of there business and they should stick to the governments business?

You appear to be backtracking from your previous indefensible position:

What the fuck do you mean "did it poorly?" Exactly how else would you say that it's shameful our society glorifies out-of-wedlock pregnancy? I hate to tell you this, but a liberal interviewer is certainly going to 'control the message' as long as he/she is interviewing someone on the right. He didn't 'hand the liberals the ammunition' for anything! The liberals manufactured ammunition from something poignant and to-the-point, he correctly and astutely pontificated. I think the VAST majority of America, basically agrees that it is a shame society seems to celebrate something that is a serious underlying social problem and perpetual cause of poverty in America. Is it "crazy" he said it? This day and age, politically, yeah I guess it must have been, from your idiot perspective, but I don't think it was at all... I think he was spot on, nailed it!

What is really STUPID... is buying into, or supporting the liberal meme that Huckabee said something controversial in the first place! You act as though Huck said we should establish Baptist Law in America! And Damo, let's be clear, it is because you don't like social conservatives, you don't like Christians, and you don't want a president who believes in God. You want us to have some secular conservative libertarian governmental system, that we aren't going to have in America... so you don't like Huckabee because of his religion..... making you a religious BIGOT.

So, though he said nothing about government intervention your argument is that the government shouldn't intervene? And the reason for your argument is that others care? What others are saying is the dude is pretty much done, largely due to a very bad start.

I don't give a damn what some liberal pinhead says about Huckabee, I don't care if you have some legitimate complaint of his political philosophy. What raises my ire is when a supposed conservative joins the liberal bashfest because they are too ignorant to see what the left is doing! They did it to Palin, and now Huckabee, and they will do it to anyone else who starts to poll close to Obama. You enable them. You jeer right along with them, like you're some kind of idiot liberal. Dumo, if you destroy all the conservative candidates, what are we left with? Maybe John McCain will run again??? FUCKING FOOL!

Huckabee doubled the size of the Arkansas state government. He's no conservative.

I'd be hard-pressed to call Medved a "liberal interviewer," but when in Dixieland...

Medved is the only talk radio host that I enjoy listening to. Although I disagree with him on some issues, he is well-educated, articulate, and honest. He is one of few conservative talk radio hosts who refuses to categorize Obama as a socialist, and unlike many other hosts, does not believe Obama is intentionally trying to destroy the United States. Are you certain you're not confusing him with someone else?

I said I'd be hard-pressed to call him a liberal. You said he's a conservative.

So, we agree. What would I be confused about?

Post #107:

"Medved's the worst. I actually kind of like Huckabee - he seems like a decent fellow, though I disagree with him on a lot of things.

Medved is hard to listen to, though."
