actually yes......all the hype over the pregnancy of this happy, engaged mother to be does glamorize unmarried pregnancy.....the issue, as Hucklebee commented, is that this is NOT what unmarried pregnancy is about, if you aren't rich, famous and engaged to be married....and the media shouldn't be portraying unmarried pregnancy in this manner......remember the brainless woman who had septuplets because she wanted to be like some movie star?.....media influence cannot be ignored...

If you aren't engaged to be married? Then why single out Portman?

To me, there are a lot of underlying condemnations here that go beyond simply having a child "out of wedlock." It's the usual morality preaching about premarital sex & a 1950's agenda for America.

But ignoring that, just how stupid do you & Huckabee think people are? People understand that they're not hollywood stars, and that they don't have millions of dollars; most aren't oblivious to that fact. To me, it's ironic that many of the same people who support Huckabee's comments also oppose abortion & even education & distribution of birth control.

I don't give a damn what some liberal pinhead says about Huckabee, I don't care if you have some legitimate complaint of his political philosophy. What raises my ire is when a supposed conservative joins the liberal bashfest because they are too ignorant to see what the left is doing! They did it to Palin, and now Huckabee, and they will do it to anyone else who starts to poll close to Obama. You enable them. You jeer right along with them, like you're some kind of idiot liberal. Dumo, if you destroy all the conservative candidates, what are we left with? Maybe John McCain will run again??? FUCKING FOOL!

He acts as if it is somehow my fault that Huck decided to start derailing his own campaign early in the season. I find it odd that a candidate with this amount of experience doesn't know how to avoid personalizing such an issue.

Huckabee didn't DO anything except speak up for moral values! OMG... Let's crucify him and totally ruin his political career because he thinks it shameful that our culture embraces out of wedlock pregnancy! I never said I "LOVE" Huckabee, or any other conservative candidate... I do LIKE Huckabee, I think he is a decent man who is sensible and pragmatic regarding conservative values, and it doesn't bother me that he has spiritual faith. In fact, I believe it's a GOOD attribute to have in a leader! Now, had Huck come out and said..."When I am elected president, I will outlaw pregnancy out of wedlock!" THEN we would have an ISSUE to discuss here... but he didn't say that! He didn't say anything remotely close to that.

Huckabee isn't making idiot libertarians join liberals in their defamation campaign.... you're doing that all by yourself, much to the chagrin of your fellow conservatives, most of whom DO believe in God, and DO value morality in our society.

Huckabee did it poorly and allowed an interviewer to control the message rather than controlling it himself. This personalized the issue and opened this gate. It has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with Huckabee making a fatal mistake in his own campaign. Handing "the liberals" the ammunition isn't a wise campaign strategy.
