Oil prices top $104 a barrel, highest since 2008

NEW YORK — Oil prices rose past $104 a barrel to end the week at a 29-month high, as fighting in Libya intensified and the world's largest petroleum consumer, the U.S., reported that employers added nearly 200,000 new jobs in February.

when this happened under bush....you couldn't turn the channel or surf the net without hearing how this was all bush's fault. be it his ties to the oil companies or the undeclared wars in iraq and afghanistan (probably more iraq)....now....a dem president

i don't see or hear any blame thrown obama's way. the left was in an uproar the last time this happened. why the silence now? why does obama get a pass?

yet another mindless drivel post by onceler...like i said...99% waste

care to try and step up and actually argue why my post is wrong? i don't think you can, you rarely do. you're a one line insult disappointment....

I already did on the other thread I just bumped, he who should not be posting.

Why do you keep repeating the same BS after you've been pwned on it? What an idiot.

no...you didn't actually discuss anything...you said, in the other thread, pretty much the same thing here, except you said, you've seen this BEFORE.

is this another "clarifying" moment that onceler allows himself, but doesn't give anyone else?

LOL

just in case i allow myself to go at it with onceler tonight...bored...the above is the OP and the thread topic. no doubt onceler has derailed it...though i admit to falling into his trap again....i'm bored

What clarifying are you doing exactly, he who should not be posting? You're really making hay out of "before"?

I understand the intense embarassment from pwning yourself, but please...

really onceler? i'm bored...so

you make a statement something like....everyone thinks yurt is wrong

DY comes along and says - who is everyone

you clarify with - i meant everyone who can read english, i didn't really mean everyone.

.....

yet, you hold me to my words in a sentence where i'm pulling your leg over your idiocy regarding the word "seem". since you don't accept the joke smiley, i offered to clarify with j/k, but you of course would not accept that

you live for the attack and insults onceler. its who you are.

Good lord - what whining. First, you start yet another whiny thread about Bush & oil prices again, then you whine about a post from DY from a couple of weeks back?

Jeez - stuff really sticks with you. You still don't get it, of course, but that's hardly surprising. The incessant whining is unbecoming, though....

and onceler tries to derail yet another thread....

but rana will continue to thank him, while complaining that 'Yurt' is the one who derails threads with attacks and ignores the thread topic.

funny how that works

Yeah, my bad. I shouldn't derail such brilliance as your umpteenth "where is the left now like they were under Bush" whinefest thread.

You know, it gets even smarter after you repeat it a gazillion times...

What makes you think they aren't blaming Bush again? :)

BTW same for the deficit. Libtards on this very board whined on and on about Bush's deficit, but not a word about the Obama making that look like chump change.

Apparently the increase in oil prices are due to the problems in Libya. So, why isn't Obama being blamed? Because Obama isn't interfering. It has nothing to do with what Obama is doing because he isn't doing anything. That is the difference.

you're right.....he isn't doing anything.....he could be reopening domestic production in the Gulf.....he could be reopening domestic production in the Dakotas.....he could be reopening domestic production in Alaska.......

the last time we had oil over $100 a barrel it dropped to under $80 when the ban on Dakota oil production expired.......unfortunately Obama reinstated the ban the first month he was in office....

Also... It used to take an average of 10-12 days to get a permit for gulf oil drilling -- NOW -- Some companies have waited over 9 months, and still haven't been approved.

and, since the price of oil is primarily the result of speculation, simply saying the US MIGHT at some random point dump a portion of the reserve into the open market would have a serious impact on an investor's willingness to bet heavily on the future's market in oil.......

after all, it would be a way of reducing the deficit.....selling five hundred million barrels at $104 a barrel and buying it back later at $87?......

Obama went golfing:

Now watch this drive

10-12 days to get a permit to pollute the southern coast, put the locals out of business and destroy ecological systems.

Maybe there's a reason why companies are now waiting for approval.
