I have got to get off the crack! It makes me forget how concrete the thought process of a right winger is.

that brought board pompusness to a new level, congradulations carless guy!!!
So my demand that the gov't not grow during terrible economic times is just me singing a chorus?
The idea that the gov't should not expand at the expense of the economy is just me griping?
The fact that I cannot name individual depts and exact amounts to be cut means I am completely unqualified to make these demands?
The nation is wallowing in debt, losing ground against out trade deficit, and the gov't is creating more and more jobs that produce nothing but more debt, and your reasoning is the economists that the gov't hired know better?
But all these things are just generalities. They are huffed and puffed by the various right wing groups and taken up as a chorus.
Now if you have actually done the sums and come to your own conclusions and can support your contentions, I will gladly withdraw what I said. But, unless you start googling, cutting and pasting, I cant see it happeneing.
Actually, the details are not as important as the ground swell of demands for smaller gov't.
We have an army of elected officials who are paid to take care of such things. We give them a set amount of money with which to work. They can then make it happen.
Ground swells are seldom well considered. They tend to rely on a kind of mass hypnosis.
Millions are spent trying to get these 'ground swells' going. Thinking people are seldom affected by such things.
Thinking people should certainly be upset by the rampant spending of our tax dollars by irresponsible politicians and bureaucrats.
I think better documented is the obscene amount of bankers bonuses. Perhaps your energies might be better spent in that direction.

If you don't like what your banker gets paid, hire a new banker. We don't have that recourse with the feds.

"So be it."
That was House Speaker John Boehner's cold answer when asked Tuesday about job losses that would come from his new Republican majority's plans to cut tens of billions of dollars in government spending this year.
"Do you have any sort of estimate on how many jobs will be lost through this?" Pacifica Radio's Leigh Ann Caldwell inquired at a news conference just before the House began its debate on the cuts.
Boehner stood firm in his polished tassel loafers. "Since President Obama has taken office the federal government has added 200,000 new federal jobs, and if some of those jobs are lost in this, so be it," he said.
"Do you have any estimate of how many will?" Caldwell pressed. "And won't that negatively impact the economy?"
"I do not," Boehner replied, moving to the next questioner.
Well, Mr. Speaker, I do. I checked with budget expert Scott Lilly of the Center for American Progress, and, using the usual multipliers, he calculated that the cuts - a net of $59 billion in the last half of fiscal 2011 - would lead to the loss of 650,000 government jobs, and the indirect loss of 325,000 more jobs as fewer government workers travel and buy things. That's nearly 1 million jobs - possibly enough to tip the economy back into recession.
So be it?

Justice is itself the great standing policy of civil society; and any eminent departure from it, under any circumstances, lies under the suspicion of being no policy at all.

People see government is their only last resort for protection against the globalist degradation of our lifestyle the globalist corporatists have in store for us.
People wouldnt be so pro government if the lauded private sector didnt prove itself to be so draconian time and time again.
You're trying to use logic to predict what liberals will do, but they are not logical thinkers.
LOL The free market is fascist?Im talking about liberals. Im talking about people. People are against your internationalist fascist ideology of "free market" chicanery.
That's a lie, sailors stop spending when they run out of money. Not knowing the details of what jobs are under the gun, I don'thave an answer. But given that the growth happened during the worst economic times in my lifetime, I think its safe to say we can cut many of them.
Our gov't is spending like a drunken sailor. Dept of Defense could take some large cuts and still be very effective. Then work our way back thru less necessary and most recently created jobs.
The fact that a job will be lost is not a reason to avoid cutting wasteful spending.
It's not moronic, it's suicidal. While I certainly agree the bankers are vastly overpaid and the level of protection they get from the two parties is beyond appalling, that is nothing compared to the level of government spending.
The spending increases since the start of 2007 are beyond insane. There is no justification for the continued spending at the peak levels of 2009. We can easily go back to spending levels of 2006.
Outspending revenue by over a TRILLION dollars a year is moronic... at best.
