Protests in Greece or UK, might be similar to those in Wisconsin, the people are angry the state can't pay for the freebies anymore, and the ice cream truck has run out of free ice cream. But what is happening in Egypt and across the Middle East, has nothing to do with cuts in government programs. You're way out on a limb with trying to make that connection. Those people want radical reforms in government, and 70% of them believe Sharia Law should be implemented as law of the land. Do Liberals favor Sharia Law now?

Representative Paul Ryan made an unintentionally apt comparison: “It’s like Cairo has moved to Madison.”

It wasn’t the smartest thing for Mr. Ryan to say, since he probably didn’t mean to compare Mr. Walker, a fellow Republican, to Hosni Mubarak. Or maybe he did — after all, quite a few prominent conservatives, including Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Rick Santorum, denounced the uprising in Egypt and insist that President Obama should have helped the Mubarak regime suppress it."

Its not the same? States are bankrupt because our industrial base as been shipped to China and tax revenues are down. People in Egypt cant earn a living because their livelihood has been shipped to China. The side issue is the union busting and forcing working people into povery that conservatives have fought so hard for for over 100 yrs.

The middle class in America has become saddled with the burden in your liberal War on Poverty, because WE are who pay the bulk of the economic dollars out, in consumer spending AND taxes! Most of our debt is still held in the fed. Its a myth that "china owns our government", its around 7% of our total government deficit.

We are currently borrowing more from China than we've borrowed from any other nation at any other time in our history, and we literally depend on them backing our debt, to continue operating a solvent government. If they called in their chips, we would be royally fucked economically, no one else in the world is currently capable of covering it. So, is this what you want to happen? Really? Economic collapse isn't going to be as peachy keen as you all seem to think... it really isn't!

If you do things to make our currency worth less, or discourage our trade relations with them, unless the Chinese are inherently stupid people, they are going to call in their holdings and leave us in an economic predicament.
