This is what it has come to! Democrat lawmakers, upset over the governor's budget cuts, have LEFT THE STATE! In order to stall and delay a vote, which is certain to pass, the democrats have devised a scheme to thwart democracy! Fence-sitting Republicans, pay attention! This is what you do when you are not in political power, but want to get your way... you run away and refuse to do your job! Forget about reaching across the aisle, or being more 'moderate' on the issues, just up and leave the state, if you don't like what is demanded by the people. Demand that your voice be heard! Stand up for what you believe in! And when the people reject it, and you see the writing on the wall, flee the state and refuse to participate in the democratic process!

Hey Dixie, nothing gets by you brah... haha, just playing man but you are a half day late on this story homeboy. It would be like you just now found out the story about the Toomer Tree at Auburn and you live in Alabama.

I looked, didn't see anything obvious... I heard about this this evening on the news, so I posted it here tonight.

Well thanks, but I really don't know what to add... I am pretty speechless. I can't believe this is happening in America, it sounds like something which might happen in the middle east, where they don't have any concept of how democracy works.

I think the governor should send the National Guard to the Days Inn Resort where they are hold-up, and escort them back to the statehouse for the vote.

As STY stated this happend in Texas in the early 2000's but yeah this type of story doesn't really have a middle ground when one "side" leaves the state. It's pretty much a 'fight' to the finish.

watch your subject verb agreement - that should be 'democrats flee'
 
If only the Wisconsin State Senate Rules permitted filibusters. Then the Democrats could just tie things up, demand some bipartisanship while conceding nothing and the press would cheer them for it. Well, that's how it works in the US Senate, anyway. At least when Republicans are the minority party.
 
There's probably a reduced attendance over time to obtain a quorum. So these Democrats are fighting a losing battle. But they are contributing to fixing the problem, as the legislature should vote to dock the pay of folks who don't show up for work. :)

Send in the Guard, now you sound like Iran and Bahrain leadership, welcome to crushing freedom and the right to protest! Will he wait until they are asleep, like what happened in Bahrain?

i'm sure the Illinois authorities would take exception to wisconsin national guard troops descending upon one of their resorts.
 
I seem to recall the line CRAMING IT DOWN OUR THROATS.


This was planned in such a way as to force it through without a momment for the people of the state to turn their heads long enough to see what they were doing.


This was a blindside move because they thought they could have it done before the people reacted.

The dems have bought some reaction time with this move and I love them for it.


Cram it up your ass dixie.

Its a better place for it than you fools craming down our throats.

The cons I have talked to thought Egyptian freedom should have been crushed.

They hate the word democracy with a passion and try to rewrite the dictionary to claim a republic is not a democracy.

There is a plan that has been in the making for decades now to change this country into the bitch of corporations.

One con leader slipped up a few years back and even stated it in public.

Norquist who is still a big leader on the right said he wanted to drown our government in the bathtub.

This is what the whole small government mem is about.

It about making the government weak enough in domestic power that the monied interests could just spend money on TV to guide policy where ever they wanted it to go.

Some fools bought the entire bullshit package of "small government" bullshit becausse it sounds all "natural" and "self guiding" and easy.

They got convinced the economy can just be put on automatic and you could then just ignore it and not have to be a diligent citizen.

Think about it people.

You bought into a plan that made it possible for you to ignore the people who would seek to control your world because the magic market would punish them for you.


It a silly childs dream and its time for you to grow up.


There is no magic in this world and as an adult you have to pay attention and constantly help guide our country in the right direction which perserves the peoples rule of this country.


Lets remember a often mentioned quote of the founders.


"A republic IF YOU CAN KEEP IT!"


Guess what , Its now time for action of the people IF we want to keep it.

What is happening in Wisconsin, is not representative democracy. Lawmakers refuse to vote on balancing their budget, which HAS to be done. This is Democrats lying in the floor of the store, kicking and screaming in a hissy fit, because they want candy! If GW Bush had orchestrated protests against liberal initiatives or measures in certain states, what would you have said about that? My guess is, it would be added to the articles of impeachment already in progress, if Bush behaved like Obama.

Liberals need to grow the fuck up, and wake the fuck up! There are going to be cuts, real cuts, not fake ones. There are going to be cuts to things besides the military, and it will include some of your favorite liberal programs. It doesn't matter if you don't like it, it doesn't matter if you protest, or flee the state to avoid democracy! It has to be done, and it will be done. Build a bridge, and get over it!

Democrats wish to balance the budget, but they wish to give the people time to make their cases, something Walker hasn't done!
