Could Ronald Reagan still get the Republican nomination?

If RR were to run for President today, do you belive he could get the Republican nomination?

He was not such a social conservative as the current Republcians.

He never pledged to lower taxes, in fact raised them a bit at first.

He promoted bipartisenship.

He compromised and got along with Tip O'Neal.

Im not sure Sara Palin would support his approval by the Tea Party.

Yes I think he would. He was a leader and was excellent at selling his ideas. Does that mean all Republicans would agree with him on everything he would do? No. But ultimately he would still be electable today.

You may be right, he had a magnetic personality. I belive however that many who revear him currently, like say Hannity, would not support a modern equivelent. They have made him into something he was not.
