I am always somewhat suspicious of the Daily Telegraph as it is very much a right wing rag trying to sell itself as all things to all men... of quality!
The relationship the US has with the UK and Europe has been suffering for many years. Certainly the idiot boy bush damaged it beyond belief and became the laughing stock of all Europe.
All the more reason for Europe to work together to defeat the spectre of unbridled Americanism. They have been way too soft on the playground bullies in the past.
