TUNIS — Chaos spread in the heart of the Tunisian capital on Friday afternoon as police moved on thousands of protesters during an impromptu funeral procession in front of the Interior Ministry, filling the street with thick clouds of tear gas and sending crowds stampeding for cover.

The state news agency later reported that President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali dismissed his cabinet and called new legislative elections in six months, The Associated Press reported.

It was unclear if the president’s latest concession would calm the riot-torn nation. The demonstrators who had gathered on Friday had been calling for Mr. Ben Ali’s immediate resignation in an extraordinary escalation of the month-long protests against his authoritarian government.

I wonder if they're busy trying to convince people that talk radio should be "toned down"?

Coincidence? I think not. Trade with china is path to ruination.
Tunisia, China look to boost cooperation ties

Tunisia wants to strengthen bilateral cooperation and cement trade link with China to harness business opportunities existing in both countries, the official TAP news agency reported on Wednesday.

"Tunisia has a great interest to improve relations with China. We recorded a strong level of bilateral relations through a continuous coordination between both countries on issues of common concern," Abdel Wahab Abdallah, Minister of Tunisia's Foreign Affairs, was quoted by TAP as saying.

Abdallah made the remarks during meeting with Zhai Jun, China's State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, who is in Tunisia to attend a conference of China's ambassadors in the Middle East and North Africa, according to the report.

"Private sector has a great role to further bolster cooperation in different sectors due to partnership projects in order to satisfy the interest of the two partners," the Tunisian minister added.

Tunisia and China have signed 23 agreements on economic, technical, diplomatic, scientific and financial sectors in a move to cement economic links with their first trade agreement dating back to l995, according to government data.

China is one of the important Asian partners of Tunisia. The overall volume of trade between the two countries rose to 1.2 billion Tunisian dinars (947 million U.S. dollars) last year from 210 million dinars in 2001, official figures showed.

Besides, the north African country is eyeing Chinese market, which is expected to provide more than 100 million tourists worldwide next year. (1 USD = 1.267 Tunisian dinar)

All you geniuses should really think about why this is happening. It's unemployment. Put the snark away and think for a second. Our workers cant compete with the slave wages of china. This is inevitable here unless we cease the globalization stupidity. But just keep on laughing, you duncecaps...

"The anti-government protests began a month ago when a college- educated street vendor burned himself to death in protest of his dismal prospects amid Tunisia’s poverty.

But the mounting protests quickly evolved from demands for more jobs to demands for political reforms, focusing mainly on the perceived corruption of the government and the self-enrichment of the ruling family...

The crowd was notably middle-class, including young doctors and lawyers and other professionals. Some identified themselves as the “Bourguiba generation” — young people who benefited from free higher education and other social welfare policies instituted under Tunisia’s first post-independence president, Habib Bourguiba."

An educated middle class is the enemy and cash cow for globalists no matter where the country is in the world.
Palin responsible? Not directly but she's a conservative who believes in globalization.

Wonder how long it will take for Americans to start burning themselves in protest of poverty globalization causes?

Is there an example of a country that (for the most part) doesn't participate in the global economy that the U.S. should model itself after?

Maybe not. But lemmings also couldn't name a lemming that wasn't an idiot follower. That doesnt justify their stupidity does it? Of course not.

LOL. I dont think so. That's a lie more incredible than the "green jobs" farce. Can you believe it? They think we're stupid.

Riots in Tunisia are because Americans can't find jobs? You're a fricking globalist!

No. There are riots in tunisia because Tunisians can't find jobs, due to the same outsourcing/trade deficit/ globalist stupidity we see here.

I don't think you've ever been less funny. Please keep avoiding the issue like a nice little cowardly ostrich with your duncecap-wearing head in the idiot sand.

Riots in Tunisia are also because the government has been gunning down citizens who speak out against them. It's always good to keep that in perspective.

But WHY are citizens speaking out against them? That's also good to understand, douchesack. Go deeper. you'll see your favorite idiocy globalization is at the root of it, but of course your fascist allegiances and corrupted character prevent you from being truthful on that count.
