GOP drops some out of the gate

WASHINGTON – Republicans have already violated some of the vows they made in taking stewardship of the House.

Their pledge to cut $100 billion from the budget in one year won't be kept.

And for a coming vote seeking to repeal the health care overhaul, the first major initiative of the new Congress, lawmakers won't be allowed to propose changes to the legislation despite Republican promises to end such heavy-handed tactics from the days of Democratic control.

lol....what is it with politicians? is it something in the water? why is it so difficult to keep promises....i mean, not even a week has gone by and promises are being broken...

by and large there seems to be little difference between the parties

Week? Hell, the new Congress convened yesterday.

It isn't really all that difficult to keep promises, it's just difficult to keep promises that are total bullshit from the get go.

i said "NOT" even a week

this is pathetic, both parties do it...why can't we elect people who will keep promises...the broken promise listed in the OP is not a bullshit promise, it can and should be done

It's a bullshit promise because they had no intention of actually doing it. The promise was bullshit, not the policy (although that is bullshit, too).

so when politicians, both parties including obama, don't keep their promises, then they never had the intention of keeping them?

Quiet down you ankle-biting nitwit. When the Republicans promised to cut $100 billion, in my view, they had no intention of keeping it. If I meant to say that every time a politician does not keep his promise he had no intention of keeping it, I would have said that. I didn't.

And no, I don't think "the US has like forever infinity money" but I don't think cutting spending is a wise thing to do at the moment.

They best keep their promise, or better yet go one better and cut the budget 25% in four years. Its really the only way to prevent a financial collapse.

Whats pathetic is you assholes whining about Republicans that finally have 1/3 of the government and have been in power for 16 hours and complain about broken promises....what crap....

Dems owned the ENTIRE government with a super majority for 2 years and didn't do shit but run us into near bankruptcy....

Nobody gives a shit what you think.

Typical apologist talk.

Have you paid any attention at all to the economy over the past few months?

Apparently, Yurt gives a shit sincin' he asked me a question and all.

If you don't give a shit what I think, you can put me on ignore. My heart may break, but I support your decision whatever it may be. I only want for you to be happy.

I ain't whining about nothing, neither. I think it's hilarious.

Apologist talk?
WTF are you talking about?
Republicans have a third of gov. and 1 day in session and you think I'm apologizing for them not solving the worlds problems....man, you are a moron.

Yeah, I've been paying attention...the economy still stinks....and the government is, for all practical purposes, bankrupt.

Most of the leading indicators are looking very good; a private sector employment report the other day blew away expectations.

You should pay attention, because that's all stuff that you'll be crediting the GOP for in a few months...

Getting last years tax laws extended was indeed a turning point..a beginning.
glad to see you recognize that.

quiet down? wtf? so when you say bullshit you're not being loud and an ankle biting nitwit....

fuck you nigel, i'm tired of your whiny nonsense...if anyone dares respond to you they're an ankle biter....grow some skin and stop being such a sissy

of course you don't think that of your dems, must make excuses but bash the repubs only

I'm all in favor of someone responding to what I wrote. It's just that you have this habit of consistently twisting what I write in your responses to me, usually by creating absolute statements that I never made. That's ankle-biting silliness.

You even did it in the above thread. I called you and only you and ankle-biter and you claim that I call "anyone that dares respond" to me an ankle-biter. Not so. It's just you. And I do it because you're an ankle-biter.
