Yeah that's realism... 
Well, shooting up a school is surreal to me. I can not imagine it. It is not something I feared or even thought about when I went to school. now it seems to be a form of home grown terrorism. It is still shocking to me.

I would suggest that taking discipline out of the hands of teachers/principals is one of the contributing factors. Lack of parenting is another.

I agree to an extent, but there are ways that the schools have too much control, lack of parenting is a definite factor.
I don't agree that that is the answer, it may be necessary now, but not the answer.

What if one of the gun carrying teachers got mad and decided to have a bad day? I guess the other teachers could shoot him and why not just let the kids bring guns to school, too?
The ASD has solved this problem, we have policemen at school. We feel the money to hire these officers is worth the safety of our students.
