I'm still waiting to hear if Dixie really believes the Democrats have controlled Congress for the past 8 years.
It would help confirm a theory I have about parallel universes, and where Dixie may be posting from.
For a party that still has nothing... they will still control the Senate and the Presidency come January.......................................
Pittafull Republicans.
LMAO.... of course they will still have the Presidency you dolt...
The Reps will pick up about 6-8 Governorships, 7-8 Senate seats and they will retake the House (meaning a pick up of at least 40 seats).
Side note Jarod... picking up 7-8 seats when only 36 are up for election is hardly "pittafull" (the word you were looking for is pitiful)

Very comparable to Reagan and Clinton's first mid-term elections. But if the Democrats really had nothing, and came out of the election in control of the Senate... that would be pittafull for the R's. My point is that the Democrats may not have a lot, but they dont have nothing.
Hmm...this looks like a bookmarkable post to me.
Oh yes.
So... I go to the trouble of pointing out that you butchered the word 'pitiful' and you follow up by again butchering it? Are you trying to tell us you are too fucking ignorant to learn?
As for your post.... NO ONE... and I do mean NO ONE... other than you would state a 7-8 seat pick up in the Senate was "pittafull". In order to retake the Senate the Reps would have had to essentially sweep every single close race as well as a few races they should not even be in. The fact the Reps are still in the races in CA, WA shows how weak the Dems are right now. Hell, even NY has dropped down into single digits.
Also... NO ONE suggested the Dems had 'nothing'. That is just more ignorance on your part. It is and HAS BEEN expected that the Dems would keep the Senate. It is obvious they are going to keep the White House this year (glad you were wise enough to point that out... because the rest of us were wondering about that).
"Also... NO ONE suggested the Dems had 'nothing'. "
Did you by any chance check the title of the thread you're posting on?

WA is gone for you guys, forget it. I never thought Boxer was actually going to lose and I still don't.
The polls in NY have been fluctuating, but Gillibrand will win. I was wrong about her. I was very upset when she was appointed by our jackass Governor. I had a bad impression of her as a blob of an upstate blue dog, but she isn't. She's strong on civil rights for gays and on women's rights. NY'ers don't know her that well yet but she's coming into her own. SHe's also a stunningly beautiful woman, another thing I hadnt realized from early pictures. I saw her on TV and I was struck by how beautiful she is, and that was before her recent weight loss. (she had just had a baby). Unlike R politicians she keeps her hair in a professional manner and doesn't parade around in leather or spackle on the makeup, but she's literally stunningly beautiful, with a great personality, very smart, and now that the ads are hitting and NY'ers are getting to know her better, she's in like Flynn. I expect that once she wins this race she will shake off the overbearing Schumer and be a force to be reckoned with in politics for some time to come.
So those three races are out.
We'll see what happens in some other races that are very much up in the air. There will be some surprises, likely on both sides. You aren't immune from yours.
NY was never in jeopardy.... I only brought it up because it is closer than it should be at this point in time.
WA.... last two polls have Murray up 2 points and down 1.... while I think she will indeed pull it out... I would hardly call that race over. If the economy worsens over the next five weeks... this is one that could tip away from the Dems.
CA... it is hard for a Rep to win out there.... Boxer and DiFei have had a very good grasp on the Senate seats for the better part of a couple decades now. Carly's money is the only reason she is keeping this race close. Boxer should win, but like WA..... if the economy turns down in October... Carly could pull the upset
As for the other races... I agree... there are a lot that could swing either way.... pause for disclaimer:
NOTE TO CYPRESS: talk of 'swinging either way' in this case in no way constitutes cybersex....
resume: the economy will be the hinge. If it stays the same, expect the outcome to be close to where the polls are now. If it worsens, it favors Reps. If it improves it favors Dems..... Just as I said a minute ago.
I wouldn't mind seeing DIFI go, but Boxer shouldn't pay the price for this crap. And I have always thought CA voters would see that. As for WA, I lived there for over a year. Now, I'm not saying I know the state the way I know NY, but I kind of know it, and I still have a couple of close friends there who have not often been wrong about politics, and they tell me forget it, Murray is going to win. If she loses, that'd be a shocker, but at this point, I view it the way I view the Republican dream that pops up ever four years of taking PA in a Presidential race - polls fluctuate and sometimes look close, but it's not going to happen.
It's certainly going to be an interesting and exciting election.
PS you are incorrigible.

I believe DiFi is the most popular politician in the state. She's not going anywhere. And this is purely antedotal but my mom voted for Obama and voted for DiFi her last time up for re-election yet she hates Boxer. At first I thought there might be a lot of others like her but Boxer is still leading and I don't see her losing.
Is she really Cawacko? God I can't stand DiFi. She's just another POS making money off of the war machine to me.
But I love Boxer.
One thing that really pissed me off about Fiorina was that tape of her trilling and gossiping like a big moron about Boxer's hair. Honestly, does she realize how she makes women look? Idiot. Once I saw that tape I knew she was going to lose.
This is a perfect example of what Dixie is talking about. When you got nothing to brag about you avoid the real issue and campaign on crap...like if Dixie really thinks the Dems have been in control for 8 years.. do you honestly believe he think this or are you trying to discredit what basically is the truth.. ?
