Holy crap, looks like the gals are smarter than men, and more scientifically informed

Unfortunately, this is study is merely from a peer-reviewed, scholarly academic study….and we should probably wait for the non-peer reviewed response from obscure rightwing web blog armchair scientists……but this totally comports with my anecdotal daily experiences!


This is the money finding from the study:

"Women exhibit more scientifically accurate climate change knowledge than do men" – even though men think they know more”

“While women exhibit greater assessed climate change knowledge than do men, men report greater perceived understanding than do women….”

“Yet, women nevertheless underestimate their climate change knowledge more than do men”.

Ha! Sociological studies are the best! This study totally is totally consistent with my daily experiences. I’m constantly being owned by female ecologists and biologists. Which is hilarious!

And, on a daily basis, I routinely run into dudes who consider themselves armchair scientists and climate experts, but yet their blatherings are complete, and comical, displays of scientific ignorance and illiteracy.

My take away lesson: that gals are on average, more scientifically informed, and also more modest about it.

The global warming stuff is all a lie, that's why women believe it more. They're more likely to believe things as presented. They don't question authority.

They are more docile, submissive and less likely to think for themselves.
 
if there was a scientific study done that said white males were smarter, cypress would go into a bloody rage and decry them as doing research not in their field etc, etc, etc....
 
Once Island nations start disapearing will you believe in global warming? Scientist all agree that global warming is occuring they just don't agree on the cause.

So if it's mostly due to natural phenomena, what can you do about it? Nobody disputes that there was a degree of warming from the 1970s to the late 1990s but it has stopped now. Sunspot cycle 24 has finally started, so we shall see what effect that has on global weather.

1) Obviously we have yet another attempt by the stalker of women to show how 'in touch' he is with women in the hopes that one of his stalking victims will 'see how sensitive he is'

2) this 'study' of women being 'smarter than men' and more 'scientifically informed' is laughable. It is predicated entirely on whether the propaganda of the flat earth global warming fear mongers has been accepted by the two genders. Women, who typically on average are not as strong in math and science, have accepted the propaganda at a higher rate than men. Yet BOTH genders do not believe on average that global warming poses a serious threat.

3) bottom line, this 'study' is a joke as it assumes the fear mongering flat earth global warmers are 'correct'. Yet one more attempt by the global warming religious nuts to shout CONSENSUS!

Ha! Totally! I need to get both of my hemispheres operating at full throttle!

I also think, as a generally rule of thumb, gals are better listeners. And consensus-seekers. Although, there are always tons of exceptions. Maybe the gorilla chest beating, and the never admitting you’re wrong crap-ola is a DNA genetic thing with dudes. In my experience, there’s a lot of dudes who will try to hog center stage and pontificate on their alleged expertise about crap they don’t actually know anything about. Like this dude who was yelling at me the other day about “junk science”, but it was clear he didn’t have the foggiest clue what he was talking about – it was a litany of talking points he obviously heard on Rush Limbaugh. I rarely see that hilarious display of primitive testosterone-driven babble from gals in public forums.

I actually think there is some strong evidence that when institutions – whether they be corporate, academic, or governmental – have a good mix, close to 50-50 of men and women, you can leverage the synergy of gorilla chest-thumping, and consensus-building. I actually read somewhere that some countries in Europe now have statutory laws that require corporate governance to actually include something close to a 50-50 split in leadership between men and women – which is a paradigm shift from the standard institutional 90-10 split in gender leadership historically in corporations and government. So, let the chest-thumping and consensus seeking commence! I think it could be totally synergistic!
 
Elin Woods just got $750 million for 6 years of marriage when it took Tiger years to earn that money. Who's the smarter one there?

that's the whole point. The null hypothesis is that warming is natural. that's the default scientific position in the absence of definitive proof. The warmers think sceptics must prove the warming is natural. It's the other way around. The warmers have to prove it's CO2 that's responsible. So far, they've had to use tricks to sell the lie
