Nothing has been twisted.
Uhm, yes you were, do we need to pull up the threads and review how many times they were called intolerant religious bigots? How they were (and still are) routinely accused of "denying their right to worship"?
Well it is AT ground zero, you fucking retard! No, it's not specifically in the very spot where WTCI or WTCII stood, if THAT is what you're calling "ground zero!" But, 2 blocks from there is considered "at" ground zero, unless you're just being anally retentive about it. Not one person I heard, said that it "should be stopped" ...if you have those quotes, you can post them at any time! People said it should be protested, and if there was any legal means of prohibiting it, we should explore every avenue. All along the way, every single person I conversed with who was opposed to the mosque, admitted it was their constitutional right to build it.
Again, I don't know of ANYONE who claimed it would be a "training spot" for terrorists, or that we are at war with every person who practices Islam, you are being foolish, and apparently hearing shit that just isn't being said by real people. Seek help immediately for that!
The mosque will most certainly be used as a recruitment tool for alQaeda, and will serve as a symbol of Islamic conquest. It stands to potentially cause MORE death to US soldiers than the Qaran burning, and it's too bad you didn't get Patreus' opinion on that, because he would probably be the first to admit it.
Regardless of what you obviously bigoted mind dreamed you heard, the issue of the mosque is really not much different than the issue of the qaran burning. In both cases, it is a protected constitutional right to allow it, and in both cases, it is in bad taste and not wise to do so. In neither case, is it 'religiously intolerant' or 'racist' or 'Islamaphobic" to voice opposition.
