I pledged I would end this war

What did Obama say, exactly, that indicated to you that he was taking too much "credit"?

Didn't read the OP, eh? Never listened to a word... You can maintain ignorance only for so long...

We can start with this:
As a candidate for this office, I pledged I would end this war.

As President, that is what I am doing.

Then point out that there was nary a mention of the fricking agreement signed by a previous President that he didn't vary from even a bit...

He jumped in front of the parade, dude. It's pretty danged obvious.

Testy, testy! Just askin' a question.

As President, did Obama have an option to continue the war?

Not after there was a Treaty. There's this "law of the land" thing to contend with...

Anyway, the reality is somebody else planned the parade, set its route, okayed all the floats, staged it and began the march down Main Street... Somebody else jumped in the path of the parade and started marching... Then somebody else is trying to tell me it was because of "him" that the parade got across that finish line. It simply wasn't the accomplishment he is trying to maintain it is. Without the victory that he so desperately told us could "never happen" first, then the agreement signed by Bush and the new Iraqi government, had he set it in motion... I'd give him the Kudos. However, not for this one, bub.

If he is even halfway as successful in Afghanistan and then makes an agreement and leaves a nation that won't fall within thirty seconds when we leave I'll give him all the Kudos he wants, but taking "praise" deserved for another is just sad.

Oh...so Obama didn't do anything then? I didn't realize.

As I said previously in the thread, all hail the great GW. Isn't it time we put him on the dollar bill or something?

My bad.

Obama followed the parade route already planned by somebody without whom that parade wouldn't have happened, then tried to tell me the parade was because of "him"...

It is fools "gold" celebration when you pretend you don't remember that I am not a Fan of Bush... Look elsewhere for FOBs, you are missing your target terribly. Although I do think it is clear you are a FOO.... ;)

I did say he got some credit for not tripping on his feet while marching the route, but no. He doesn't get credit for the parade.

It's easy for you to just say you're not a FOB. It's harder to mean it.
There are skads and skads of evidence on this board alone, however there isn't so much to prove you are not a FOO. Previous to the surge, Obama told us it would fail. Previous to the surge, in fact, Obama told us that there was no possible way we'd ever have what we have today...

There is a reason I don't give him much credit for the parade... It isn't because I love Bush. I don't believe we should have had the parade to begin with. I've always felt that way.

Truth is a bitch, ain't it Onecell....even though you seldom accept it....and go kicking and screaming when you finally can't deny it any longer....

You can always far back on something that is totally irrelevant to the subject at hand...you usually do....
