Hmmmm…..I find the message board NeoCon chants of ”Iran wants YOU to die!”, and some cut and pastes of thousand year old quotes in the Koran to be highly uncompelling and unpersuasive arguments to convince me that NeoCon guesses and boobery regarding Iran is either correct or a wise course of action.
While Iran’s theocratic government is an anathema to liberal enlightenment (and frankly, much closer to the rightwing Jerry Falwell world view), surprisingly I look at this empirically and objectively: The nation of Iran has never invaded or initiated a war with another country for hundreds of years; I seriously doubt that Iranians want to invade and/or destroy America; and I’m not going to join NeoCons in a frenzy of diaper-pissing and jump to the conclusion that a civilian nuclear plant, surveiled by international inspectors, is being leveraged into a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons. Whatever problems with inspection and verification there are, IAEA is going to have to sort them out with the diplomatic backing of the international community. I really can’t see NeoCon cyber-warriors storming the beachheads and invading Iran to be a plausible or wise course of action.
I don’t doubt that Iran, like many developing countries, has in interest in doing research on how to build nuclear weapons. It’s probable that a fair few developing nations want to have the scientific know-how for contingency purposes in the future, but it doesn’t mean that they are actually building an arsenal for the pending attack on Kansas City. Also, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell shia Iran would ever give nuclear weapons to sunni terrorists affiliated with Al Qaeda. Sunni Al Qaeda considers shia to be dogs, whose heads deserve being cut off. Iran ain't freaking stupid.
Finally, since NeoCons completely fucked up the Iraq WMD blunder, and you were wrong on every single, solitary claim you made, what can you do to convince me that this time you are right? I mean, after your colossal and epic blunder on Iraqi WMD, your credibility is basically in shreds I don’t see how you can recover your credibility after the epic Iraq WMD blunder……..

Iran assisted in gathering intelligence against Al Qaeda, and publically decried 9/11.
