Tolerance of Catholicism was once going to lead to the US being under the thumb of the Pope. Now that Muslim's are instituting sharia we will be saved from that fate?

where? i know a liberal who wants muslims to have sharia law in the us....but i don't know where it is being "instituted" other than private homes, which could be considered street "justice".....
