Strait of Hormus Shipping Live Tracker

This tracker (marinevesseltraffic.com's Hormuz Strait ship traffic map) utilizes AIS signals and is based entirely on Automatic Identification System (AIS) data.

A caveat:

It is not 100% reliable or complete for these common reasons (all standard for any AIS tracker, and explicitly noted by the site):

  • Vessels can (and do) turn off AIS or "spoof" it to hide activities. This is especially relevant in geopolitically sensitive spots like Hormuz.

  • Military/government ships are not required to transmit AIS.

  • Coverage and update limits — Terrestrial AIS is line-of-sight only; satellite fills gaps but can have delays or lower density in some areas.
  • Potential errors — Spoofing, outdated static data, or signal issues occur.
  • The site states data is "for informational purposes only" and it is "not responsible for the accuracy, completeness and reliability of data.

SoH is closed. Full stop. Iran posted a pic of a US baby killer ship on fire after it got too close to Iranian waters but it will take a few days to verify its accuracy. No US baby killer ship dare get within 200 miles of Iran.

Well, the link I gave will show when there is shipping flow through the strait again regardless of your opinion of Trump. It is simply information. It isn't from the WH, it wasn't given to you by Trump. Nobody in the thread made any claim about "open shipping"...

So... Do what you will with the link. Stop trying to argue strawmen.

You need to clarify NOW if you will claim it is "Satire" later.

I have not looked into the link but just in case it proved to be propaganda (i am not saying it is) you need to clarify.

Trump is no different than Biden, Obama, GWB, or Clinton. They are all war pigs and pedophiles. "live tracking of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz" is ambiguous since Iran is setting any ship that tries on fire.

My contribution to this thread is Iran's claim of striking a US war ship and setting it ablaze. If that turns out to be true, it gives Trump an excuse to start WW3 with a military on the verge of mutiny.

So nobody currently taking The PP up on today’s offer of a guide.

Well it looks like it is effectively closed which runs contrary to what Jarod has been telling us. According to him, Iran holds all the cards
As I’ve been saying, if you could read… Iran can keep it closed, but they can’t open it either. It takes US and Iranian agreement to open.

I’ll ask you to stop misrepresenting what I’ve said.

What the US/Zionist propaganda is not telling you: The "sea lane" the Americans claim to have opened is not the usual Strait of Hormuz shipping lane; rather, it is a narrow corridor south of the customary vessel track, and it is entirely within the territorial waters of the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman.

The Americans wisely fear to violate our sovereign waters with their aircraft and ships.

Brigadier General Mohammad Jafar Asadi, Deputy for Inspection of the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya, said: "The Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are a region related to Iran and its neighboring countries, and the Americans have no right to opine about this region."

His remarks come amid heightened tensions in the waterway, which has become a focal point of confrontation during the ongoing crisis and has significantly impacted global energy flows.

General Asadi warned that the enemy is attempting to impose its bullying dictates on the Strait of Hormuz, but asserted that this will not happen.

He also described the bullying behavior of US statesmen as a source of shame for the American people, emphasizing that regional issues are "completely unrelated to the United States."

In a direct message to Washington, the Iranian commander accused the United States of seeking to exploit regional resources, particularly oil.

“We clearly tell the Americans: this is not Venezuela, where you can plunder resources,” he said, emphasizing that Iran and its people would resist any such attempts.

Fake Iranians and fake Americans posting rubbish.

The shipping insurance industry has a lot more to say about ships going through the Strait than Trump does; raise the bottomry rates high enough in a region and your shipping goes away.

The blockade is going well, and the Gulf states have plenty of pipelines open, even into India; so far it is China that is suffering the most, which is a good thing.

lol laughable idiocy. They sound scared.

As for Venezuela, their fields were discovered and developed by American companies and Royal Dutch Shell, and they can't run the fields with a crap, which is why they will soon be back under corporate management.

Iran is already isolated and will soon collapse, its 'allies' are already dumping them. Soon we will be seeing vids of the IRG dragging mullahs out of sewers and basements by their beards and hanging them. It's just another failed islamo-vermin regime on its last legs and will soon be just another US supported shtihole.

Goat is so far gone on Iran that he's a nightmare these days.

It is sad and hilarious watching lefties like Jarod hold out hope for Iran to defeat Trump. He actually thinks Iran is winning. He keeps asking for a certain date like a petulant child. Nobody knows for sure. But what we do know is that pressure is mounting on them. They cannon hold out forever.

People like Jarod are hoping for a Vietnam walk of shame. These boomers live for Vietnam. I don’t see it happening because much to Jarod’s chagrin there isn’t a litany of US deaths paraded on the news like it was during g the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. It makes people like Jarod very sad

Trump says Cuba is “next.” What does that mean?

Nope. The Strait is open to everyone but Iran.

1. Iran is the one imposing restrictions — not being excluded.

Multiple sources confirm that Iran’s IRGC is asserting control over the Strait and setting rules for passage:

  • Iran announced it will enforce “new rules” over waters along its coastline in the Arabian Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, exerting control over nearly 2,000 km of coastline.
  • Iran’s IRGC Navy has imposed strict navigation rules, allowing only civilian vessels on Iran‑designated routes and barring all military ships.
  • Iran reopened the strait for commercial traffic during a ceasefire, but only under four strict IRGC‑controlled conditions.

2. The U.S. is enforcing a naval blockade — but not “against Iran alone.”

The U.S. blockade targets Iranian ports, not Iran’s right to exist in the strait. It affects any vessel paying Iranian tolls or violating U.S. interdiction rules.

  • The U.S. naval blockade remains in effect until freedom of navigation returns to pre‑February 27 levels.
  • The blockade impacts global shipping, not just Iran.

3. International law does

The Strait of Hormuz is a shared waterway between Iran and Oman.

  • Kuwait’s UN representative emphasized that international straits must remain open to all and cannot be turned into political leverage.

4. During the crisis, Iran restricted others — not the other way around.

  • Iran attacked “enemy” merchant ships and halted passage for all until a ceasefire.
  • Only ships from countries “friendly to Iran” or those paying tolls were allowed through.

Verdict

The claim “The Strait is open to everyone but Iran” is factually incorrect. The evidence shows:

  • Iran is not banned from the Strait.
  • Iran is actively controlling, restricting, and regulating passage.
  • The U.S. blockade targets Iranian ports, not Iran’s right to transit the Strait.
  • International law does not permit excluding Iran from its own territorial waters.
