I did that with a couple of posters I don't have on reaction ignore that gave me a reaction and I see nothing.

How do you expect to block their reactions in your notifications then?

I only needed it once, to confirm. I should never need it again, but it is useful in pointing out who the real pains in the rear are.

I know right? I just go through them.
There is one poster on the left that has given more reactions in the past 2 months than any of y'all and nobody that I have looked at the stats from on the "other side" has even come close to a comparison. If you couple the two major "react button" fans, it becomes a significant factor in how you can use the board, and if you are somewhere on the spectrum, red notifications are something you must deal with...
You "just go through them" because, for you, they do not count into the hundreds sometimes before you get to one you want to see.
Hence a modification that allows people to still get the reaction, the "score" as it may be, but not have to slog through hundreds of notifications before they find the "quoted by <insert name>" notification.
I personally also just "go through them"... Because I do not have the same experience as some of those other members. I don't regularly have over 60 notifications when I log in each morning.
