The more the religious people on the right scream, the faster the libertarian conservative runs away and disassociates... and I think THAT was their plan all along!

This crap started out the way pretty much every story having to do with muslims, mexicans, or blacks starts out. On Fox News, Drudge, and the wingnutosphere, who flog it and trumpet it 24/7, until some mainstream media pays attention. This wouldn't even be a story, without the non-stop wingnut flogging. Left to their own devices, the Atlanta Constitution, or ABC News wouldn't even have bothered to dig up or report this story at the national level.

And dude, you can relax about your paranoia of thinking republicans might be repulsed by your wingnuttery. I haven't seen a republican on this board repudiate the bigoted losers who felt allegedly "offended" by this, or lift a finger to defend the religious freedoms of muslims. At best, Rstringfield and maybe one or two others on the right recognize the intolerance of this shit storm, and have the balls to call out the bigots. So feel free to say its a 9/11 trophy Mosque, or any of the other hilarious crap you've been saying. Which tells me that I am nailing it right on the head. I am now more convinced than ever, this was a carefully calculated political ploy to throw a monkey wrench at the Tea Party Express... to dissuade Libertarian types from associating with the "bigots" and "wingnuts" who watch Fox News. If you could just cause a rift between Social Conservatives and Libertarians over some "religiously-based" issue involving liberty and freedom... and low and behold, this was it! I don't know that it worked as planned, but as of now, they are still planning on building a mosque at ground zero, and there are still a lot of folks pissed off about that... so who knows?
