Obama has not said he belives this Mosque should be build in this spot...

ITs just not true...

"Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country."

"That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."
I think you miss the importance of the venue.

why do you ignore his other words?

While insisting that the place where the twin towers once stood was indeed "hallowed ground," Mr. Obama said that the proper way to honor it was to apply American values.

Harkening back to earlier times when the building of synagogues or Catholic churches also met with opposition, Mr. Obama said: "Time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, and stay true to our core values and emerge stronger for it. So it must be and will be today."

he is saying it would be unamerican to not allow the mosque on hallowed ground...

"Time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, and stay true to our core values and emerge stronger for it. So it must be and will be today."

Do you disagree with this?

Now that is a point. What does the venue mean.
It is the place and audience to whom he was speaking. Oh... You mean how does where he was speaking reinforce some of the opinion that he was supporting the mosque?

Choosing to do it at an audience specifically of Muslims breaking the fast of Ramadan is significant in those that formed that opinion.

Yes, such an important venue that presently there is an abandoned Burlington Coat Factory there, while next door are an Amish Market and the Dakota Roadhouse, which is adjacent to an AT&T Device Support Center.

Such hallowed ground. It's up there with Arlington National Cemetery and the site of the Battle of Gettysburg.

of course i do....don't forget i support the mosque being built there

why is it you can't see that he is saying that those who do not want the mosque there are unamerican?

Obama said: "I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground."

Because that is not what he said.

You're entirely off. The venue in which the President was speaking, not where the mosque is going to be.

Again, I have no problem with the mosque at all. I just give them advice, the same advice I'd give to any group seeking tolerance among a populace...

There are people who clearly do have a problem with where this particular mosque would be, it would behoove them in the name of tolerance that they expect to have in return to place it in a different spot. Other than that I do not care. It doesn't hurt me at all... Even if they build an actual Mosque and name it "The Conquerers Mosque at Ground Zero" I still would not personally care.

yes he did...he said it is american to support this

stop being such a hack you moron

He did not say that.... Just no way did he say that... use his words, not your interpertation of what he ment. What he said was...

"Time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, and stay true to our core values and emerge stronger for it. So it must be and will be today."

Honestly, I have no idea, but do you know how far along in the process they are?

It can take over a year to get the kinds of permits you need for this kind of venture, so what you're asking is no small thing in many cases (again, depending on how far along they are)

Hey, why don't you post what the President said so we can all see it. You probably should have done it ealier to help alleviate a lot of the confusion.

Its hard to prove a negative, they are saying he was cheerleading the mosque and saying that it should be built in the proposed cite...

I cant prove he did not say that, but they could prove he did, by giving us the quote.... and a cite...
