Our pathetic country....

DEARBORN, Mich. -- A Michigan high school football team is holding preseason practices in the middle of the night to help its Muslim players practice both faith and football.

The predominantly Muslim squad from Dearborn says the nocturnal regimen is a way for players to eat and drink while observing the holy month of daytime fasting known as Ramadan that started last week.

I just can't wait to see the cheerleaders and the class portrait of the Muslim girls with their Burkas and faces covered....or haven't we regressed that far yet ?
:palm::igive:

IF that is true, which I doubt, it is pathetic.
Oh I don't doubt it. Dearborn has a huge number of Muslims in the city if not a majority. Personally, I think it's great to see this kind of community support. This is one thing I'd love to see more of wether its Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Buddhist, Masons, KOC, Lions, VFW, AL, FFA, etc, etc.

Hear, hear!

Yeah, I have no problem with this, if no one on the team did.

I also say "Merry Christmas" to people, and enjoy the use of the term "Christmas tree."

But, I guess these things make our country a very sad place. I wonder why bravo hates America so much?

Good point...

Totally. I bet they were like, all high school football games will be played on Sunday exclusively, not on Friday nights or Saturdays!

that is correct...i could not play on any school sports teams because they played on saturday...which is my families holy day...i actually tried out for varsity football and made second string quarterback, but was quickly shut down because most games, if not all, were on saturday...

You mean like having holidays on Christmas & Good Friday, serving fish on Fridays...that kind of thing?

uh....i never went to a school that had good friday as a holiday and the "winter" break was not for christmas and never was fished served...

you're obviously dating yourself old man, because no way that happened in the 80s, at least anywhere in california

Here's the Los Angeles Unified School District calendar for the 2010-11 school year:

Note the Christmas holiday. And note that, coincidentally, Spring Break includes April 22, which just so randomly happends to be Good Friday.

While a totally sad sob story that leaves me emotionally reeling, what in the world does that have to do with whether any concessions were ever made for Christians?

The fact of the matter is that the status quo is built around Christian preferences.
