You also failed to acknowledge you hypocrisy regarding YouTube's censorship of Iranian content, so drop the "freedom of information" argument.
You have no case to plead.
Y2K was governments and companies trying to prevent computers from failing. Your example is a government preventing citizens from communicating. Those are opposites, not parallels.
And YouTube censoring uploads is not the same as a state choking off a nation’s internet. A platform moderation policy may be biased; a regime blackout is authoritarian. Pretending those are equivalent is either dishonest or confused.
As for Youtube, I am pretty sure I griped plenty here about the tech censorship during covid

False. We are at war. I wish it were not necessary to limit international connectivity in order to protect our infrastructure, but it is, thanks to American-Isreali aggression.
Enough of our people recognize the necessity that no uprising has occurred, despite the inconvenience. The first duty of a government is to protect the nation. They know that is what we are doing.
In effect they are the same, hypocrite. The West fears whet Iran has to say, and you are willing to be kept ignorant of it.
It is neither. It is a necessity. You appear to be unaware that Western government have often limited access to or blocked the dissemination of information in time of war. That does not surprise me.
